22-year-old man arrested after posing as Minnesota high school student, football player

A Minnesota community is in shock after learning that a 22-year old man fraudulently enrolled at Lake High School and joined the football team.
Kelvin Luebke, 22, was arrested after allegedly using a false identity and fraudulent documents to enroll at the school. For students to enroll, the school requires a birth certificate, proof of address, and immunization records to protect against this very thing occurring, but Luebke was somehow able to bypass those protocols.
He was arrested on Sunday after it was discovered that he had enrolled under false pretenses, school officials told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Luebke appeared on the roster for the school’s football team, and students from the school have confirmed he was on the team, according to reports. A recruiting profile for someone of the same name also appears on NCSASports.org, a site for high school athletes to post information and highlights for college recruiters. On his profile page, he is listed as playing at Forest Park High School in 2023.
In an email to school district families, principal Russ Reetz said: “We received reports that an individual enrolled at [White Bear Lake Area High School] was over the age of 21 and promptly started an investigation.”

Luebke is currently held in the Anoka County Jail on charges that include theft and lewdness. The district says it is continuing its investigation in collaboration with local police, and Luebke is banned from school property.
“Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of all students is our top priority,” Reetz added in the email. “I am grateful to the staff members, families and students who saw something and decided to report it. These reports led to our investigation.”
