IMG Academy continues to lure top talent to Bradenton, Fla. Ascenders hoops will have a blue-chip name to know joining their roster for the 2025-26 season.

Four-star small forward Aziz Olajuwon, the son of NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon, is transferring from Clements (Texas) to IMG for his senior season, he told League Ready’s Sam Kayser on Monday evening.

Playing for Clements last season, Olajuwon averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. Despite the last name, Aziz’s game isn’t what comes to mind when you think of his father. The 6-foot-6, 195-pounder has a smooth stroke and was named one of the top shooters in the 2026 class by Rivals’ Jamie Shaw earlier this month.

Olajuwon is the No. 68 overall prospect and No. 21 small forward in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He now checks in as the No. 9 prospect in Florida.

The stock of Olajuwon has risen this summer after some impressive showings at camps and during travel ball. Contenders have emerged in his recruitment, too.

Five official visits have been set thus far: Stanford (July 31), Vanderbilt (Sept. 19), Cincinnati (Sept. 26), TCU (Oct. 3) and Houston (Oct. 9). Olajuwon is, of course, a Houston legacy recruit.

In his final year of prep hoops, Olajuwon now joins a star-studded roster in the Sunshine State. Other blue-chippers on IMG’s roster include: four-star SF Cole Cloer, four-star shooting guard Jermal Jones Jr., three-star SF Ralph Scott and three-star power forward Hakeem Weems.

Paced last season by former five-star and new Arkansas freshman point guard Darius Acuff, the Ascenders finished last season as the No. 19 team in the nation, per the Rivals Composite Rankings.

Scout’s Take on Aziz Olajuwon

Shaw wrote this of Olajuwon after naming him one of the biggest risers from the NBPA Top 100 Camp back in June:

“Olajuwon averaged more than 20 points per game, finishing the event as a top-five scorer for the week. The 6-foot-5 wing got to his spots in the half-court and showed he can score at each level. Olajuwon is the son of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon. He is currently No. 145 in On3’s 2026 rankings. Tightening his skill base, playing with better balance, especially getting into his shot, will be the next steps for him. But he showcased the soft touch and the confidence to get to his shots consistently. Virginia Tech is one offer Olajuwon got after his performance at the camp.”
