5-star RB David Gabriel Georges racks up 431 yards, 7 TDs in Baylor School (Tenn.) win

Baylor School (Tenn.) running back David Gabriel Georges is making his claim to be the No. 1 running back recruit in the junior class.

And if Friday night’s performance in the Tennessee Division II Class 3A semifinals is any indication, he just might be. Against archrival McCallie School, the 6-foot, 205-pounder put on a rushing performance for the ages.

He got the Red Raiders offense going with a 17-yard touchdown and punched in a one-yarder in the second quarter to put Baylor on top 14-7. As he went, so did the Baylor offense. He added scores of five and 32 yards in the second frame as they grew the lead to 28-14 heading into halftime.

McCallie came back to make things interesting, tying the game at 35 before Gabriel Georges went back to work. He closed things out with two more touchdowns, including an 84-yarder that put the game out of reach and extended the lead to 56-35.

On the night, he carried 32 times for 431 yards and seven touchdowns. It was his second game over 300 yards against McCallie this season, and in his four games versus the Blue Tornadoes across the past two seasons, he has more than 1,060 rushing yards.

With Baylor one game away from the state title after falling to McCallie a year ago, he’ll loo to have another big performance next weekend against 11-0 Brentwood Academy.
