Friday’s Alabama high school football game between Lanett and Lafayette was called at halftime after gunfire erupted outside of Bulldog Stadium, according to a report by AL.com.

The gunfire reportedly took place at a nearby home. No players or coaches were hurt, though local sportscaster D. Mark Mitchell reports one person was seriously injured outside the stadium.

The Panthers are now 4-1 on the season after posting consecutive wins over Beulah, Loachapoka, Barbour County and now Lafayette. The team’s Alabama high school football season is scheduled to continue next Friday against Handley (3-1).

Lafayette (2-3), meanwhile, is now riding a three-game losing streak and has been outscored 116-12 in losses to Ranburne, Loachapoka and now Lanett. The Bulldogs will look to get back on track next Friday against Red Level (2-1).
