Alabama High School Football: How to watch No. 1 Thompson vs. No. 5 Clay-Chalkville

The best game out of Alabama this week takes place on Thursday night when top-ranked Thompson (4-1) faces off against No. 5 ranked Clay-Chalkville (5-0). Checkout the key players on both sides to watch in this matchup of top five Alabama high school football teams tonight.

Warriors to Watch

Alabama’s No. 1 ranked team, Thompson, heads over to Pinson to take on the state’s No. 5 ranked Clay-Chalkville in what could be the best game out of the Yellowhammer State this season. The Warriors lone loss on the season is a 24-23 decision against Georgia’s top-ranked Grayson back on Aug. 29. Now the Warriors look to notch win No. 5 on the season when they square off against Cougars.

QB Trent Seaborn: The junior four-star quarterback anchors the Warriors’ offense as Seaborn has completed 89 of 129 passes for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns.

DL Cam Pritchett: Pritchett, a Oregon commit, anchors the Thompson front seven as one of the best defensive lineman in the state. So far this season, Pritchett has tallied 34 tackles and six going for a loss.

WR Dedrick Kimbrough: The sophomore wide receiver is the go-to-target for Seaborn this season. Kimbrough this season has hauled 16 passes for 337 yards and five touchdowns.

S Trenton McCorvey: McCorvey patrols the defensive back end for the Warriors as the three-star junior safety has notched 35 tackles and five for loss.

Cougars to Watch

Clay-Chalkville (5-0) enters tonight’s contest against Thompson looking to pull off one of the bigger upsets of the season. To do so, they’ll need all of their top players to rise to the occasion as the Cougars look to remain unbeaten and walk away with a 6-0 record.

WR Corey Barber: Barber, a senior four-star wide receiver, is the top pass catcher for Clay-Chalkville’s offense. the top wideout has hauled in 24 passes for 508 yards and scored seven times.

S Xavier Starks: The Cincinnati commitment leads a very talented defensive backfield that’s going to make life difficult for Seaborn. Starks has batted away five passes this season.

CB Deon Callins: Callins, a South Alabama pledge, joins Starks as apart of a strong secondary. The senior has made 12 tackles and defensed one pass.

QB Aaron Frye: The senior signal caller will lead the Cougars offensively and Barber will be his go-to-guy. Frye this season has completed 43 passes for 738 yards and eight touchdowns.
