Alabama high school football team suffers 101-game losing streak

Sports often celebrate the winners. However, this story is about an Alabama high school football team that has lost 101 consecutive games. According to a report from AL.com, the Columbia Eagles’ woes continued after dropping their regular season finale against Hazel Green 34-8.
There was a glimmer of hope that the Eagles would end the infamous streak when Columbia owned an 8-7 halftime lead. Since then, the Trojans dominated the contest, scoring 27 unanswered points.
Hazel Green led for good after Cam Moore capped off a seven-play, 68-yard drive with a 19-yard rushing touchdown. Moore finished with 28 carries for 138 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to Moore’s scores, Hazel Green also had a passing touchdown and a TD off a fumble return.
Sadly, this defeat ended Columbia’s 2025 Alabama high school football season at 0-10. Their struggles lingered despite hiring former NFL wide receiver Sammie Coates as head coach. The Panthers suffered their 100th straight loss against Jasper 61-22.

The Panthers last won on October 16, 2015, beating Ardmore 34-16. The closest they’ve been to ending the streak was on October 28, 2016 against Lee. Sadly, they fell short against the Generals 27-20. Worst yet, the 2019 season saw the Panthers scoring only 20 points in ten games.
While Columbia’s futility continues, it’s not the longest active losing streak in high school football. Minnesota’s Red Lake Warriors have lost 150 consecutive games via a 77-22 result against Red Lake County Central/Red Lake Falls. They last won in 1999.
