Alabama QB commit Jett Thomalla off to superb start for Millard South (Neb.)

Jett Thomalla is one of the top quarterbacks in the Midwest and he’s proving just that early on in his senior campaign for Millard South (Neb.).
The four-star Alabama commit is coming off another notable performance last week. In a 72-0 road win over Kearney, Thomalla threw for 291 yards and six touchdowns on just 14 completions.
With another standout showing under his belt, the 6-foot-3.5, 200-pounder is now up to 802 yards and 14 scores through three games. He continues to impress as the Millard South offense is now averaging 62 points per game.
Millard South remains the No. 1 team in Nebraska and is now the No. 43 team nationally, per the Massey Ratings. The Patriots have already seen their season take a turn, though.
On Sept. 12, the Omaha World-Herald reported that the program had been disciplined for violations by the Nebraska Schools Activities Association (NSAA). In accordance with acceptance of the penalties handed down for the violations, the Patriots had to forfeit their season-opening 49-7 victory over Arbor View (Nev.) and first-year head coach Taylor Mendenhall was suspended for the game vs. Kearney.
“Under NSAA policy the situation that led to the hearing involved confidential student information and was a closed hearing; therefore, the NSAA cannot release any information,” the NSAA said in a statement to the Omaha World-Herald.
After that dominant win over Arbor View, the Patriots blanked Millard West 65-0 and then didn’t allow a point to Kearney. They now host Millard North (0-3) this week and are heavily favored in each of their remaining regular-season games to date.

Despite the forfeit, Millard South still looks like the clear top team in the state and hasn’t gotten off track. Thomalla is leading the way alongside four other Power Four commits on the offensive side of the ball.
Thomalla, an Elite 11 Finalist, flipped his commitment from Iowa State to Alabama on June 17. He’s now the No. 152 overall prospect, No. 10 QB and top-ranked player in Nebraska in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.
Elite 11 Review
At the Elite 11 Finals, Thomalla was named one of the 10 top performers at the illustrious QB event by Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power:
“Thomalla put together a solid week of work at the Elite 11 Finals. The new Alabama commit hit his stride on Day 2, charting on target on 18 of his 20 passes during his pro day workout, while showing good timing with his footwork. He followed that up on Day 3 by completing 14 of 21 passes for four touchdowns and one interception. At 6-foot-3.5, 200 pounds, Thomalla touts a college-ready frame with quality arm strength. He was at his best when targeting out-breaking routes in the intermediate area of the field.”
