Arkansas High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Dec. 2
The Arkansas high school football high school football postseason heads into the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) state championships this upcoming weekend, which will conclude action for the 2025 campaign.
The Bryant Hornets remains the No. 1 team in the latest Top 25 rankings as there was no change when it came to the Top 5 teams. Besides the undefeated Hornets, who else makes the cut for the Top 25 high school football teams list for Arkansas?
From Arkansas high school football’s established powers to emerging programs, here are the top 25 teams in the Natural State, according to Massey.
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory as of Dec. 2.
1. Bryant Hornets
Bryant (12-0) got everything they could want in the state semifinal against Rogers, coming away with a 50-43 win.
The Hornets next challenge on the field is for the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Class 7A championship on Friday night when they take on Bentonville. Can Bryant pull off the championship repeat?
All the question marks on offense have been checked off throughout the season as the Hornets has a talented signal caller behind center in Kyler Shelby, who saw limited game action in 2024 as a sophomore last season while playing behind Jordan Walker.
2. Bentonville Tigers
Bentonville (12-0) is one win away from being a state champion, but to do it, they’ll need to upend the top team in Arkansas high school football in the No. 1 ranked Bryant Hornets. The Hornets are coming off a narrow 26-21 win over Conway last week, putting them in the Class 7A state title game on Friday night.
The 5-time state champion Tigers are coming off a 9-4 2024 campaign and needing to replace plenty of starters on both sides of the ball. Bentonville is armed with a pair of Arkansas commitments in four-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo and three-star Blair Irvin.
The Tigers aims to take the Class 7A state championship to attempt to cap an undefeated season
3. Greenwood Bulldogs
Greenwood Bulldogs (12-0) having the state’s best quarterback in Kane Archer certainly helps and the Bulldogs boasting the recent Utah commit behind center makes them dangerous every Friday night on offense.
Archer has made the argument to being the state’s Most Valuable Player as the senior signal caller, with the future Knight completing 264 of 349 passes for 3,212 yards and 30 touchdowns. Archer’s go-to-wide receiver has been senior Cooper Bland, who has caught 53 passes for 822 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs began their Class 6A state title quest last week against Jonesboro, coming away with a 59-21 victory and followed it up with a 63-45 win over No. 7 ranked Benton. Now they will face Shiloh Christian for the Class 6A state championship title.
4. Rogers Mountaineers
The Rogers Mountaineers (10-2) closed out their season with a 50-43 loss to top-ranked Bryant in the Class 7A state semifinals last week.

When it comes to consistency, the Mountaineers have shown that down the stretch of the regular season and it has continued into the playoffs after an impressive 35-0 win over Little Rock Christian Academy. The Mountaineers’ defense has been solid all season long behind the play of BYU commitment Braxton Lindsey, who leads a defensive unit that’s only yielded.
5. Conway Wampus Cats
Conway (9-3) saw its season end with a 26-21 loss to No. 2 ranked Bentonville in the Class 7A state semifinals.
The Wampus Cats featured a couple of the state’s top players in three-star safety Tay Lockett (Arkansas commit) and interior offensive lineman Isaiah Bowman (Arkansas State commit). Lockett made an impact on both sides of the ball, helping make Conway a viable state title contender.
