BJ Hall hired as Zephyrhills Christian Academy (Fla.) head football coach

Zephyrhills Christian Academy (Fla.) has hired Webber International University football recruiting specialist BJ Hall as their next head football coach.

Hall confirmed with Rivals on Thursday morning of his appointment as the program’s next head football coach.

Hall had been tabbed as Sunlake High School’s head coach back in late 2022 after serving as an assistant at Zephyrhills Christian Academy during the 2022 season. He and the school later parted ways with the head coaching position at Sunlake during the spring of 2023.

“I want to revamp the program,” Hall said. “Just in talks with Mike Smith and Mike Smith Jr., they approached me about the position and wanting me to come in and do things the right way. They wanted to go in a new direction and bring a new vision to the program. We will put together a strong staff, one of the better in the area. We are going to produce a good product on the field. We have a young team and will take a look at what we need to revamp. We may stay independent, but we haven’t decided yet.”

Hall, who also runs the Quarterback House in Trinity, Florida, was formerly a head coach at American Collegiate (Fla.) between 2017-2018, compiling an overall record of 13-8. 

The Warriors are coming off a 3-6 campaign in football, but Hall and his staff will have an uphill battle to climb as the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) sent a sanctions letter to Zephyrhills Christian Academy, citing a list of major rule violations stemming from the 2024-25 season.

In the sanctions letter obtained by Rivals in early October, Zephyrhills Christian Academy had been punished and placed on a one-year probation by the FHSAA due to eleven different rules violations stemming from the 2024-25 football and boys basketball season. 

The FHSAA’s decided ruling excluded every sport at Zephyrhills Christian Academy, including football, from taking part in the association’s state series, with the punishment concluding at the end of the 2025-26 school year, requiring the forfeiture of all football/boys basketball games and honors from the 2024-2025.
