In what would’ve been viewed a somewhat of a ho hum Florida high school football contest between The Bolles School and Baldwin turned into potentially history in the making.

According to The Bolles School’s assistant coach Eric Weatherly, Bulldogs’ 2028 running back Xander Edwards scored his eighth touchdown, which per the NFHS record books would make him the first Florida high school football player ever to accomplish the feat.

Edwards entered the contest having carried the ball 101 times for 873 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns. Now the sophomore running back is up to 20 scores and leads all rushers in Florida.

It was just last week that Hilliard running back DJ Alderman scored seven touchdowns against St. Joseph, according to News4Jax’s Justin Barney.
