According to a report by the KUSI News’ Prep Pigskin Report on Monday evening, Chris Hauser will be stepping down as the head football coach at Mission Hills (Calif.).

Hauser and assistants Thomas Altiero, Edward Nuckols had been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of probe that began back in mid-September. No details have ever been released on what exactly the reasoning was behind the investigation into Hauser and the two assistants were for.

Per DayGoFootball, Hauser sent out the following statement regarding stepping down as head coach:

Dear Grizzly Players and Families: It’s been a good run. I’m proud of our program’s and players’ achievements through 20+ years leading it, but family/health circumstances signal that it’s time for me to step down from my head coach and teaching responsibilities to attend to those priorities preceding my retiring from the District at the end of this school year. My family and I appreciate all of your support, encouragement and respecting our privacy. We wish all MHHS Grizzlies and the program continuing success.

Hauser had been the head football coach at Mission Hills since 2004 and led the program to plenty of success along the way.

The Grizzlies are ranked No. 15 in the state of California and currently sit at 7-1 on the season. Mission Hills is scheduled to be taking the field this Friday night against Rancho Bernardo, coached by former NFL’er Eric Weddle.
