California High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 27

The high school football season continued in California last week, as many of the top programs in the Golden State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 California high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 27.

1. St. John Bosco Braves

The best team in California high school football improved to 9-0 after blanking Servite 42-0. Koa Malau’ulu threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns, while Maliq Allen had 82 rushing yards, 53 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Corey Hinton had a rushing and a receiving touchdown in the Braves’ victory. St. John Bosco can go undefeated in the 2025 regular season by defeating Mater Dei on October 31. 

2. Mater Dei Monarchs

The Monarchs have started another winning streak after their 40-7 domination of JSerra Catholic. Justin Lewis had 64 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Gavin Honore and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt each had 92 receiving yards. Ahmad King and Asir Nembhard each had a rushing touchdown, helping Mater Dei improve to 6-2. The Monarchs will face St. John Bosco in the battle of the state’s two best teams on the 31st.

3. Centennial Huskies

The Huskies have won eight straight games following their 59-49 triumph over Norco. Dominick Catalano led the Centennial offense with 239 passing yards, 55 rushing yards, and three touchdowns (two rushing). Dean Gibson added 190 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while Devan Parker had a receiving TD. The Huskies can improve to 9-1 by beating Chaparral in their 2025 California high school football regular season finale on October 30.

4. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers

The Trailblazers continued their perfect season after a 40-0 shutout victory against Bishop Amat. Laird Finkel threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns, while De’Markus Barnes contributed two rushing TDs. Sierra Canyon will close the 2025 regular season against Loyola on the 31st.

5. Santa Margarita Catholic Eagles

After losing to St. John Bosco, the Eagles responded with a 28-7 victory over Orange Lutheran. Trent Mosley compiled 100 receiving yards, 21 rushing yards, and two touchdowns. On defense, Siua Holani led the way with 11 tackles, while Leki Holani added 1.5 sacks. Santa Margarita Catholic will finish the 2025 California high school football season against JSerra Catholic on the final day of October.
