California High School Football: San Juan Hills forfeiting nine games due to violations

If you’ve been following California high school football this fall, chances are you’ve become well-aware of the CIF Southern Section and a couple of key bylaws that have punished teams heavily all season long.
The association has penalized multiple notable programs and San Juan Hills is now the latest, spoiling a promising season with the playoffs set to begin next week.
The school issued a statement on Friday announcing that it will forfeit nine games due to violations, bringing its record from 8-2 to 1-9:
“This week, the administration at San Juan Hills High School received information alleging potential CIF violations related to athletic transfers into our football program. Following a preliminary internal investigation, we identified possible violations of CIF Southern Section bylaws. Prior to this investigation, the SJHHS administration was unaware of any infractions; however, the evidence presented was significant. In accordance with CIF-Southern Section protocols, SJHHS formally self-reported the matter on Friday, October 31, 2025.
…As a result of the violations to rules, the school will forfeit nine varsity football games from the current 2025 season. While this outcome is extremely discouraging for our student athletes, we recognize the importance of upholding CIF bylaws and maintaining the integrity of high school athletics. San Juan Hills High School is committed to the highest standards of conduct and will continue to follow all policies and procedures in our pursuit of victory with honor.”
The Stallions closed their regular season on Thursday night with a 41-7 victory over Tesoro. Entering this week, they were the No. 19 team in California, according to the Massey Ratings. The ill-timed announcement now leaves the team hoping it can still snatch an at-large spot in the playoffs.

The exact violations were not revealed in the announcement, but San Juan Hills is far from the first Golden State program to face problems this fall. Earlier this week, Norco announced that it was forfeiting six victories.
CIF-SS bylaw 202 — ‘Penalty for Providing Incorrect, Inaccurate, Incomplete or False Information’ — is one that has been mentioned frequently this season. Programs like Long Beach Poly, Compton and Millikan have all had transfers ruled ineligible and have had to forfeit games.
CIF-SS playoff brackets will be revealed on Sunday.
