The postseason continued in the Golden State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 California high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 24.

1. Centennial Huskies

The Huskies earned the top spot of the California high school football rankings after completing a 28-27 victory over Mater Dei. Dominick Catalano’s 24-yard touchdown pass to Boise State signee Keawe Browne proved to be the winning score. Catalano also added two rushing touchdowns, while Malaki Davis had one. This victory improves Centennial’s overall record to 12-1 and gives them a shot at the CIF Division 1 Southern Section title, wherein they will face Santa Margarita Catholic on November 28.

2. Mater Dei Monarchs

The Monarchs had a shot at keeping their season alive, only to be foiled by Centennial’s defense. Hence, Mater Dei’s season ends at 8-3, with two losses coming against the Huskies. Likewise, the Monarchs will bid farewell to some marquee senior players like WR Chris Henry Jr. (Ohio State), TE Mark Bowman (USC), OT Kodi Greene (Washington), DL Tomuhini Topui (USC), WR Kayden Dixon-Wyatt (Ohio State), EDGE Shaun Scott (USC), QB Ryan Hopkins (Wisconsin), S CJ Lavender (UCLA), and RB Justin Lewis (UMass).

3. St. John Bosco Braves

The Braves’ season ended with a 20-19 loss to Orange Lutheran last November 14. St. John Bosco dropped its final two contests after going on a nine-game winning streak. With their 2025 California high school football campaign over, WR Madden Williams (Texas A&M), WR Daniel Odom (Oklahoma), CB Joshua Holland (USC), WR Carson Clark (San Jose State), EDGE Dutch Horisk (Oregon), LB Matthew Muasau (UCLA), DL Roman Paseka (San Diego State), K CJ Wallace (Washington), and TE Na’o Tito (Sacramento State) will be moving on to college football.

4. Santa Margarita Catholic Eagles

The Eagles dominated Orange Lutheran, 31-6, giving them a spot in the CIF Division 1 Southern Section finals. Trace Johnson tallied 123 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Jaion Smith and Adrian Petero each had a rushing touchdown. Trent Mosley finished with 83 receiving yards and two TDs, while the Santa Margarita Catholic defense generated five sacks, two courtesy of Isaia Vandermade. Carson Palmer’s crew will face Centennial on the 28th.

5. Mission Viejo Diablos

The Diablos’ 2025 California high school football season ended after a 20-0 shutout loss to Mater Dei last November 14. Their campaign ends at 9-2, with their other loss coming against Tennessee’s McCallie School. Mission Viejo bids farewell to DL JD Hill (Washington), WR Vance Spafford (Miami), CB Jeron Jones (Washington), and QB Luke Fahey (Ohio State).
