Some of the top players in the country have seen their high school football seasons cut short due to a season-ending injury and a top 2027 recruit announced the ending of his fall campaign on Saturday.

Jefferson junior linebacker Max Brown, a four-star Clemson commit, announced Saturday via Instagram the ending of his 2025 season due to a knee injury he sustained in the Dragons’ 35-0 loss to North Oconee last week. Through five games, Brown is the leading tackler and rusher for Jefferson.

Firstly I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunities and blessings that he’s given me; without him none of what I have accomplished would be possible. Thank you to my parents, friends, coaches and teammates for keeping me grounded and keeping my emotions stable in this tough time. I’m extremely sorrowful to announce that my Junior season has been cut short due to a knee injury that I sustained on the first play of the game last night. I know that God brings his toughest soldiers through the toughest battles and this will make me a better man, teammate, and most importantly a better follower of Christ. I love this team and I have no doubt they’re going to make a run this year. A glow stick must first be broken to glow. With that being said, I WILL be back, just watch. For now, 1 out

The Dragons are 4-1 at the midway point of the season and scheduled to face West Hall (2-2) on the road this week. Brown through five games for Jefferson led the team in tackles with 43 total and 11 of them going for a loss.

Not only did Brown do the heavy lifting on the defensive side of the ball, but also offensively as the junior had rushed for a team-high 427 yards and scored four touchdowns.
