Leominster (Mass.) saw its 2025 postseason run on Friday night end in a 48-32 loss to St. John’s Preparatory School in a Round of 8 MIAA playoff matchup.

Blue Devils’ senior quarterback Osiris Lopez, a Coastal Carolina commitment, didn’t go down swinging offensively in the loss. Lopez went off for Leominster, totaling 459 all-purpose yards and five total touchdowns against Massachusetts’ No. 2 ranked team.

Lopez’s performance earned major respect from St. John’s head coach Brian St. Pierre, who played quarterback at Boston College.

“I’ve seen one guy on a football field do that, and his name is Michael Vick when I was at BC. He was just a better athlete than anyone and made plays,” St. Pierre said to the Boston Herald on Friday night.

Rivals reached out to Lopez regarding his huge performance and the Leominster signal caller spoke about his last high school game and getting recognition for Massachusetts high school football.

“I think this is the best game I had my entire four years as a varsity starter,” Lopez said. “The level of play during this game was just like no other. I couldn’t be more proud of my team and my guys. We fought so hard all season battled through so much adversity. Lot of ups and downs but we came out this game hungry and really wanted it but some things just didn’t go our way and we fell a little short. I knew how much this game meant for public schools and the Leominster community, so I just wanted to leave my all out there on the field. I also hope I woke some people up. Trying to Massachusetts football on the map and I think people are finally seeing the ballers that play here.”
