Colorado High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Sep. 1

Colorado high school football season jumped into Week 2 action and everyone got a clearer picture of who the top teams in the Centennial State.
Cherry Creek continues to remain the No. 1 in Colorado high school football after they went down to Florida and defeated Cardinal Mooney, 24-21, in Kissimmee. Besides the Bruins, which other teams are leading the way in Colorado to start the 2025 season?
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here are the top 25 Colorado high school football teams, according to Massey.
1. Cherry Creek Bruins
The Bruins have started off this 2025 Colorado high school football campaign in dominant fashion as they dominated Regis Jesuit, 45-10, to kickoff the season and followed it up with an impressive 24-21 win over Cardinal Mooney (Fla.) in Florida. Not too shabby for a program that has now won 60-plus games over the past six seasons.
Louisiana Tech commit Brady Vodicka is back at the controls of the offense and so far this season has thrown for over 200 yards and two touchdowns. Cherry Creek on offense is balanced between Vodicka and running back Jayden Fox, who has rushed for 394 yards and found the endzone five times so far. The wide receiver room is stacked, led by Maxwell Lovett, Alijah Landrum-Hamilton and tight end Ty Goettsche.
This week the Bruins return home to face Millard North.
2. Valor Christian Eagles
Valor Christian followed up last week’s dominant 36-14 victory over Pine Creek with another one, this time a 41-15 decision against Regis Jesuit.
Quarterback Dawson Olk has shared snaps with sophomore Titus Huard on Valor Christians offense, with the pair combining to throw for 299 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. Running backs Channing Fox and Chase Hanosh have combined to rush for 334 yards and score three times.
The Eagles head into a tough stretch of games in the next few weeks, in which they’ll face Faith Lutheran (Utah) and Mountain Vista.
3. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
Mountain Vista‘s offense showed up in Week 1, scoring 49 points, but it would be their defense doing the work in Week 2. The Golden Eagles shutdown the Arapahoe offense, winning 20-0.
Leading the charge on offense this season for the Golden Eagles was quarterback Marquise Reese, who has completed 37 of 62 passes for 642 yards and eight touchdowns. Reese’s two favorite targets have been Brooklyn Bailey (six catches, 209 yards) and Ja’pree Jennings (15 catches, 209 yards).
The Golden Eagles this week will take on Erie (1-1) on Thursday night.
4. Legend Titans
Legend kept the momentum going after last week’s dominating 63-10 victory against Fruita Monument and notched a 28-16 win over Grandview in Week 2.
Boston College quarterback commit DJ Bordeaux has been superb behind center throwing the rock for the Titans, completing 29 of 43 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns through the air.

The Titans begin a stretch of three straight road games beginning this Friday against Columbine.
5. Ralston Valley Mustangs
The Mustangs began play last week on the road against Erie, coming away with a 34-21 victory.
Ralston Valley is coming off a 10-2 2024 campaign and return numerous starters on both sides of the ball, including 6-foot-6 quarterback Zeke Andrews, who threw completed 19 of 26 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Erie.
When it comes to Colorado high school football teams, the Mustangs may have one of the more potent offensive groups around.
