Colorado High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Sept. 23

Compared to last week’s ratings, there are minimal changes to the latest Colorado high school football top 25 list. One team entered the top ten while two more entered the tail end of the rankings. Here are the state’s best squads, according to Massey.
The Massey Ratings system, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
1. Cherry Creek Bruins
The defending Class 5A state champions remain the best team in Colorado high school football after winning their first four games this season. Cherry Creek returns to action against Pine Creek on September 25.
2. Valor Christian Eagles
The 2024 Class 5A state semifinalists have won ten of their last 11 games, including their first four matches in 2025. Valor Christian can improve to 5-0 with a victory against Ralston Valley on September 26.
3. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles won 15 of their last 16 games, including a 4-0 record this season. Mountain Vista can clinch its fifth consecutive victory by defeating Overland on the 26th.
4. Ralston Valley Mustangs
The Mustangs are at 4-0 for the season following their 41-21 victory against ThunderRidge. Zeke Andrews led the Ralston Valley offense with 313 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, and four touchdown passes. Sawyer Blomquist added 96 rushing yards, while Ethan Shirazi had 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Tyler Schneider had eight tackles and an interception. The 2025 Colorado high school football season continues for the Mustangs against Valor Christian on the 26th.
5. Legend Titans
The Titans suffered a heartbreaking one-point overtime loss on the road against Arvada West. Despite the defeat, DJ Bordeaux was impressive, finishing with 154 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also connected on a touchdown pass with Sean Guertin. Meanwhile, Ryken Banks had three rushing touchdowns and 145 yards from scrimmage (79 rushing). Legend can get back on the winning track against Castle View on the 26th.
6. Arvada West Wildcats
The Wildcats improved to 5-0 after an impressive 70-0 shutout of Overland. Logan Duhachek threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns, while adding another rushing TD. Jaiden Green had 190 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and Keegen Balistreri finished with 83 receiving yards and two TDs. Noah Meurer also had a huge game, tallying 137 yards and a catching score. On defense, Kevin Sanchez led the way with nine tackles, including a sack. Arvada West can claim its sixth straight victory by defeating Denver South on October 3.

7. Pine Creek Eagles
The Eagles are on a three-game winning streak after beating Arapahoe 48-27. Brady Walden threw for 204 yards and a touchdown, while Xavier Lukes had 145 yards from scrimmage (106 rushing) and a TD. Brayden Plunkett finished with 122 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, the Pine Creek defense generated seven tackles for losses and an interception. The 2025 Colorado high school football season for Pine Creek continues against Cherry Creek on the 25th.
8. Grandview Wolves
The Wolves have won two in a row after their 37-0 shutout victory against Rock Canyon. Blitz McCarty threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns, while Chris Blanks added 85 rushing yards. Wideouts Jaxson Flores and Ryne Tripp each caught a touchdown pass. Grandview can extend their streak to three games by beating Arapahoe on October 3.
9. Dakota Ridge Eagles
The Eagles are at 4-0 following their 45-14 victory against Pomona. Kellen Behrendsen finished with 273 passing yards, 25 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (four passing). Landon Kalsbeck added another rushing touchdown, while Nathan Rodriguez had 136 receiving yards and two TDs. A win over Cherokee Trail on the 26th will put Dakota Ridge at 5-0.
10. Palmer Ridge Bears
The Bears have started the 2025 Colorado high school football season with four straight victories. In their 48-7 win against Longmont, Knox Tinlin tallied 193 passing yards, 62 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (three passing). Jake Bossinger had 87 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Magnus Newman had 46 yards and two TDs. On defense, Brody Elliott led the way with 3.5 tackles for losses. Palmer Ridge will face Mesa Ridge on the 26th.
