Utah continues to churn out blue-chip quarterback talent and the 2026 cycle is no different. One gunslinger that’s really made a name for himself as of late is DavisTradon Bessinger.

Leading the Darts to a 5-1 record, Bessinger has absolutely slung it so far this fall. Completing 76 percent of his passes, the Boise State commit has already racked up 2,277 passing yards and 30 touchdowns to just one interception. He’s also rushed for two scores.

Every game has been dominant to date. He’s notched at least four passing touchdowns in all six outings and has thrown for less than 350 yards just once.

“It’s been a fun one,” Bessinger told Rivals’ Adam Gorney earlier this month. “It’s our senior year and I’ve started for three years so I have chemistry with these players. One of my receivers I’ve played with my whole entire life and then we’ve all been playing for a lot of years.”

Bessinger opened his senior campaign with 384 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-21 win over Brighton. Two weeks later, he amassed an absurd seven scores and 423 yards, demolishing Mountain Ridge, a top-10 team in the state.

Last time out in a 29-15 win over then-No. 5 American Fork, Bessinger tallied a season-high 435 yards and four touchdowns. It’s truly been dominance at every turn for the rising 6-foot-4, 200-pounder. This isn’t anything new, either.

As a junior for Davis, Bessinger finished with 3,674 passing yards, 46 total touchdowns and just five interceptions. The Darts won eight games last fall and look to be on pace for a bigger finish this time around.

Davis is now the No. 168 team in the nation and the No. 5 team in the Beehive State, according to the Massey Ratings. It takes on No. 12 Syracuse this Friday and is favored to win each of the four remaining games on its regular-season schedule.

Bessinger gaining national recruiting attention

The secret is out when it comes to Bessinger the prospect. The latest Rivals300 was released last week and he made his debut as a four-star, the No. 153 overall recruit and No. 13 QB in the 2026 cycle. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies, he’s now the No. 405 recruit, No. 27 QB and No. 7 player in Utah.

Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power had a glowing review of the Boise State pledge upon the release of the new Rivals300 ranking:

“I think he’s showing more athleticism. This is a guy who’s a very skilled passer, can attack all areas of the field, is accurate with a loose arm and quick trigger. He can really throw tight-window passes over the middle of the field, high-difficulty throws that you don’t often see a lot of high school QBs make. He’s an advanced, skilled passer. His start to the season reminds me of Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele last year with how productive he’s been. Bessinger looks like a steal for Boise State and it would not be surprising to see other teams come in on him based off the level he’s playing at right now.”

He’s landed BYU and Minnesota offers since committing to the Broncos on May 19. For now, though, Bessinger is focused on finishing his senior season and is locked in with the Mountain West program.
