Did four-star prospect James Carrington hint at transferring to California?

Defensive lineman James Carrington had the high school football community on notice after posting a now-deleted tweet. “I’m out here in California, I’m trying to stay! Where them Trinity League Coaches AT?” Carrington said.
Perhaps Carrington is looking for staunch competition which he could experience at the Trinity League. After all, it’s one of the most competitive high school athletic conferences, led by Mater Dei, the nation’s best team based on the National On3 Composite Team Rankings.
Meanwhile, the conference also includes Orange Lutheran, ranked 23rd in the Composite Rankings. Other member schools are JSerra Catholic, Rosary Academy, Santa Margarita, Servite, and St. John Bosco.
James Carrington would have made an impact if he decided to transfer to one of these schools. He could bring the defensive tenacity that enabled him to collect 15 sacks in 2023 and nine last season. Likewise, Carrington had 66 tackles in his last two high school football years.
These numbers earned him a four-star rating and a 91.97 On3 Industry Ranking. He is Nevada’s second-best prospect and ninth among defensive linemen.

While he has one more year of high school football, Carrington has already received offers from elite college football programs. Some schools that would like to have him are Georgia, Oregon, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Miami, and LSU. He has visited the Ducks, the Bulldogs, and the USC Trojans two times each.
However, deleting the tweet means that it’s either he’s not keen on transferring or that he wants the process to be a secret. If it’s the latter, there’s a chance he could play for four different high schools.
After playing for St. Frances Academy in his first year, James Carrington moved to Rabun-Gap Nacoochee for his sophomore campaign. Last season, Carrington suited up for Bishop Gorman, the third-best team in the nation.
