Fenway Park to host high school football on Thanksgiving week

When it comes to baseball stadiums, there might be none more recognizable in the country than Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox home of Fenway Park. The legendary ballpark announced on Monday that it would be hosting a sport other than baseball come Thanksgiving Day at the historic venue.
Fenway Park announced via social media that it will be hosting four Massachusetts high school football games on the week of Thanksgiving. The dates Fenway will be serving as the host for the two games announced are Nov. 25-26.
The tradition of playing Massachusetts high school football games on Thanksgiving Day at Fenway Park began back in 2017. Since then, the series has seen continued success and 2025 brings on another year of games taking place at the home of the Red Sox.
Last year’s games at Fenway Park providing some thrilling endings, with Nantucket defeating rival Martha’s Vineyard in overtime, 22-14.

The four matchups on Thanksgiving week include on Nov. 25 (Tuesday) the opener, pitting Melrose facing off against Wakefield, with kickoff slated for 5 p.m. Second game of the dais is Newton North versus Brookline and the scheduled kickoff time is at 7:30 p.m.
On Day 2 of Fenway Park hosting high school football, at 4 p.m. Plymouth North and Plymouth South opens the day up in what will be the 29th overall meeting between the two rivals since 1994. Then in the final game at the ballpark, Lexington will take on Concord-Carlisle.
Tickets for general admission are now available at $20 for each day of the double-headers being played.
