The Arkansas high school football high school football season ended with the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) state championships as that concluded action for the 2025 campaign and we bring out the final Top 25 rankings.
The Bryant Hornets ends the season as the No. 1 team in the latest Top 25 rankings as there was just one change, with Shiloh Christian entering the Top 5 and Conway moving down a spot. Besides the undefeated Hornets, who else makes the cut for the final list of Top 25 high school football teams list for Arkansas in 2025?
From Arkansas high school football’s established powers to emerging programs, here is the final top 25 teams in the Natural State for 2025, according to Massey.
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory as of Dec. 10.
1. Bryant Hornets
Bryant (13-0) had a little bit easier of a time winning the state’s Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Class 7A championship when they soundly defeated Bentonville, 27-7.
The Hornets got everything they could want in the state semifinal against Rogers, coming away with a 50-43 win.
All the question marks on offense have been checked off throughout the season as the Hornets has a talented signal caller behind center in Kyler Shelby, who finished the year throwing for 990 yards, 13 touchdowns and only two interceptions.
2. Bentonville Tigers
Bentonville (12-1) was one win away from being a state champion, but were not able to get past No. 1 ranked Bryant Hornets, falling in a 27-7 decision. The Hornets were coming off a narrow 26-21 win over Conway the previous week, in search of their sixth state championship in program history.
The 5-time state champion Tigers are coming off a 9-4 2024 campaign and will need to replace plenty of starters on both sides of the ball going into next season. Bentonville this past season featured a pair of Arkansas pledges in four-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo and three-star Blair Irvin.
3. Greenwood Bulldogs
Greenwood Bulldogs (12-1) having the state’s best quarterback in Kane Archer, the Utah signee, surely made it seem like destiny that the team would end up coming away with the state’s Class 6A state championship.
Instead, the Bulldogs ended up coming short of their goal as they fell to Shiloh Christian, 70-50, in the state title game. Greenwood was coming off a 63-45 win over No. 7 ranked Benton before falling at the end.
Archer has made the argument to being the state’s Most Valuable Player as the senior signal caller, with the future Ute completing 280 of 374 passes for 3,514 yards and 34 touchdowns. Archer’s go-to-wide receiver was senior Cooper Bland, who has caught 58 passes for 940 yards and 14 touchdowns.
4. Rogers Mountaineers
The Rogers Mountaineers (10-2) closed out their season with a 50-43 loss to top-ranked Bryant in the Class 7A state semifinals.

When it comes to consistency, the Mountaineers have shown that down the stretch of the regular season and it has continued into the playoffs after an impressive 35-0 win over Little Rock Christian Academy. The Mountaineers’ defense has been solid all season long behind the play of BYU commitment Braxton Lindsey, who leads a defensive unit that’s only yielded.
5. Shiloh Christian Saints
Shiloh Christian (12-2) made a little jump in the rankings after they impressed in their final game, defeating previously undefeated Greenwood in a wild 70-50 contest.
Winning the game gave the Saints the AAA’s Class 6A state championship in a year where many thought Greenwood would be able to take the crown.
Junior signal caller Cole Creighton had himself a strong 2025 season where the passer established himself as one of Arkansas’ best going into 2026. Creighton finished the season throwing for 4,017 yards and 44 touchdowns.
