True North Academy 2027 three-star quarterback Zac Katz has put up some prolific numbers throughout the course of his high school football career and on Friday night, the signal caller added an accolade under his belt.

The Florida International commit surpassed 10,000 passing yards for his high school football career in the Knights’ 42-17 win over Palmer Trinity School in a FHSAA Class 1A region quarterfinal win.

“I’m very honored and blessed to have achieved this accomplishment,” Katz said. “I would like to thank all the people that have supported and been with me through hard times. Crazy part is, I still got another year to try and break the Florida high school passing record. And best believe that’s what I am aiming for!”

Katz is chasing another quarterback who just recently starred in the South Florida region in former Miami Norland signal caller Ennio Yapoor, who owns the Florida high school football passing record for yards in a career with 14,129. This season, Katz has thrown for 1,810 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Kngihts.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior quarterback committed to FIU back in early September, picking the Golden Panthers over Appalachian StateSMU, and Toledo.

Next up for Katz and the Knights is a region semifinal test versus Saint Andrew’s School.
