The high school football season continued around the country, as Texas and a couple other states joined on the gridiron action. With that, more games were played and that provided more opportunities for eye-popping numbers, crazy statistics and impressive streaks to stand out.

Here are the numbers that stood out the most to us from last week’s Aug. 28-30 games:

3,367

With his injury, Grayson’s Travis Burgess (North Carolina commit) finishes his prep career throwing for 3,367 yards. Grayson receiving the news that their four-star quarterback would be out for the remainder of the 2025 season due to an injury was certainly a blow to the Rams’ offense this fall. With Burgess now shelved, it ends his high school football career playing for one of the top teams in the country. The 6-foot-6 signal caller ends his high school playing days with 3,367 yards passing and 32 touchdown passes.

1,761

It’s been 1,761 days and counting since Marion Local (Ohio) has lost a football game. While their streak doesn’t yet rival De La Salle’s legendary 151-game streak, it’s getting up there when it comes to the all-time winning gallop. The Flyers have gone 1,761 days and counting since they last lost a game back on Nov. 6, 2020. Marion Local extended their longstanding win streak to 66 games when they defeated Crestview, 63-0, last week.

853

Folsom’s Ryder Lyons has accounted for 853 all-purpose yards through two games. There aren’t many quarterbacks around the country playing at the level of the BYU commit right now. The Bulldogs’ signal caller followed up a nearly flawless performance against Grant in a nationally-televised game with another stellar one. This time Lyons totaled over 400 yards again and added seven more touchdowns to make it 12 overall for the season. Now he’s sitting at 853 total yards and 12 touchdowns through just two games.

18

It’s been 18 years since St. Joseph’s Prep School (Pa.) last started 0-2. The last time the St. Joseph’s Prep Schools Hawks began a high school football season with two-straight losses, George W. Bush was the President of the United States. For a program that started the season within the national top 25 rankings, the Hawks continue to see themselves slip after a 45-17 tail whipping at the hands of DeMatha Catholic (Md.) this past weekend in Delaware. If Tim Roken doesn’t find some answers quickly, it could be a long season for the Hawks.

3-0

The lowest scoring high school football game of the weekend was Mallard Creek’s (N.C.) 3-0 win over Warwick (Va.). Fans of Mallard Creek and Warwick must’ve done a double take when they looked online for the final score of the Mavericks-Raiders game. Three points is all the two teams could muster up in 48 minutes of play as Mallard Creek’s field goal in the third quarter on Saturday afternoon proved to be the ultimate go-ahead. In a day and age where rules cater more to the offensive side of the ball and points are being scored at a premium, it seems very improbable to see such a score like 3-0 nowadays.
