Lincoln Cosby, the fifth-best high school basketball player from the Class of 2026, will transfer to Montverde Academy for his junior year. League Ready’s Sam Kayser shared the news on X/Twitter. He will leave Overtime Elite, a professional league for high school-level players, to join one of the nation’s elite teams.

During the 2024-25 season, Cosby averaged 15.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game for RWE. He also played in the PRO16 League’s Grassroots Circuit, averaging 17.4 points and four rebounds per game.

He also played for the Under-18 Overtime Elite team that participated in the 2023-24 NextGen EuroLeague Berlin Finals, averaging 3.3 points and three rebounds in three games. For USA Basketball, Cosby was invited to the 2023 and 2025 Men’s Junior National Team minicamps.

Cosby will depart from Overtime Elite as Georgia’s top-ranked prospect. Likewise, his 98.18 Rivals Industry Ranking makes him the second-best small forward in the country behind Baba Oladotun. Meanwhile, he is fifth behind Ryan Hampton, C.J. Rosser, Oladotun, and Paul Osaruyi.

Lincoln Cosby will transfer to a team that finished with a 19-8 record last season. That record, plus their participation in the Chipotle Nationals, made them the tenth-best high school basketball team last year.

Montverde Academy is also undergoing a transition period following the departure of long-time coach Kevin Boyle, who has transferred to SPIRE Academy. Taking his place is Steve Turner, who came from Gonzaga University High School. Turner will take over a team featuring three-star point guard Dhani Miller, Javion Tyndale, Trace Lopez, and four-star shooting guard Jayden Hodge.
