Florida Class 3A state championship: How to watch Northwestern vs. Raines

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) football state championships continued last night down in Miami at Pitbull Stadium as St. Thomas Aquinas blanked Lakeland for the second straight year for a state-record seventh consecutive title. The state championships continue today with this tonight’s Class 3A championship game will feature the Raines Vikings and Northwestern Bulls, which look to go back-to-back after winning the Class 3A state title last season. We preview the fifth of seven FHSAA state championship games as teams begin being crowned as champions of their classifications.

Miami Northwestern Prep Players to Watch

WR Calvin Russell: The Syracuse signee is one piece to a very talented Miami Northwestern receiving corps. Russell has hauled in 32 passes for 517 yards and seven touchdowns through nine games.

WR Nick Lennear: The 2027 four-star wide receiver is another one of the Miami Northwestern receivers that will be expected to have a big performance like he did a year ago. Lennear, according to MaxPreps, has hauled in 20 passes for 381 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games.

QB Neimann Lawrence: Lawrence is one of the nation’s top sophomore quarterbacks and has proven so throughout the season that sediment. The signal caller has completed 131 of 185 passes for 1,971 yards and 32 touchdowns.

EDGE Demarcus King: Leading the front seven on the defensive line is King, who has totaled a team-high 66 total tackles, 33 for a loss and 13 sacks.

Raines Players to Watch

QB Timothy Cole: The senior dual-threat quarterback has been superb for the Raines Vikings all season long. Cole has completed 138 of 215 passes for 2,609 yards and 39 touchdowns. He has also been solid on the ground with 407 yards and three touchdowns.

LB Tony Williams: The Illinois signee will head up a very talented Raines’ front seven group as they will need to get a pass rush on Lawrence throughout the evening. Williams has made 56 tackles, seven for loss and three sacks.

WR Ziyon Butler: The Middle Tennessee signee has been the top wide receiving threat for the Vikings as Butler has caught 45 passes for 1,020 yards and 17 touchdowns.

WR Ethan Sherman: The senior wide receiver is the second to Butler on the receiving corps as Sherman has hauled in 35 passes for 733 yards and nine touchdowns.
