Not everyday you run into a 2-time Super Bowl champion quarterback. For Key West High School‘s coaching staff, they got to experience the once in a lifetime moment in meeting a potential future NFL Hall of Famer.

Key West’s football program posted on its Facebook page on Monday a photo of its coaching staff meeting former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Manning started for the Giants from 2004 to 2019, leading New York to Super Bowl victories in the 2007 and 2011 seasons. The former Ole Miss star was the No. 1 pick of the 2004 NFL Draft and went on to throw for over 57,000 yards and 366 touchdown passes over the course of his professional career.

The Conchs are coming off a successful 8-4 season in which the team reached the second round of the Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) Class 3A playoffs, falling to Cypress Lake in the region semifinals.

Key West featured one of the top rushing attacks in all of the Sunshine State in 2024, with the team rushing for 3,935 yards and scoring 37 touchdowns on the ground. The team’s second-leading rusher, Walson Morin, is slated to return after rushing for 1,190 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns last fall.
