The 2025 Florida high school football campaign heads into its final week of regular season play as teams begin to look ahead to if they may make the postseason or not.

The undefeated IMG Academy Ascenders played a rare Saturday afternoon home game, defeating East St. Louis (Ill.) to remain Florida’s No. 1 team. Chaminade-Madonna Prep, Armwood and St. Thomas Aquinas following at No. 2-3-4, respectively. Which other teams were able to crack the latest set of Top 25 Florida high school football rankings?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Florida high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 26.

1. IMG Academy Ascenders

IMG Academy (9-0) has fully leaned on the play of their offensive line and that was on full display Saturday afternoon in a 38-14 win over East St. Louis (Ill.).

The Ascenders leaned on the play of Louisville commit Le’Khy Thompkins, who rushed for nearly 200 yards and scored two touchdowns. When it comes to playing bully ball up front, no other Florida high school program in the state knows how to do that any better than IMG Academy, under the guidance of former Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa.

Up next for IMG Academy, the Ascenders head back on the road up to New Jersey to face The Hun School (N.J.) and then close out the regular season against St. Frances Academy (Md.), respectively.

2. Chaminade-Madonna Lions

Chaminade-Madonna Prep (8-1) have won eight straight games since losing the regular season opener to nationally ranked St. Frances Academy of Baltimore. For the Lions, their eyes are set on winning another Class 1A state title come December at Pitbull Stadium.

Four-star Derrek Cooper (Texas commit) is as good as they come for running backs, with the senior rushing for 782 yards on 74 carries and scoring 11 touchdowns. The offense is more than just Cooper alone, however. Also putting up some strong numbers right behind Cooper is junior tailback Arwin Jackson, who has rushed for 546 yards and five scores.

A bright spot is the youth movement at quarterback for the Lions as 14-year old Malik Leonard, who has completed 102 of 139 passes (73 percent) for 1,739 yards and 20 touchdowns this fall.

The Lions have their toughest test of the season this upcoming Friday night when they take on No. 4 St. Thomas Aquinas on the road.

3. Armwood Hawks

The Hawks of Seffner, who are now coming off their ninth straight win and fourth consecutive shutout, a 49-0 defeat of Wharton, take aim at a 10-0 season this week. Armwood are serious contenders to upend West Boca Raton in Class 6A this fall with the way they’re playing heading into the Florida high school football playoffs.

There’s plenty of reasons to like this undefeated Armwood (9-0) team, including senior three-star quarterback Rhys Brush, who is committed to USF. The Hawks look to pull off a undefeated regular season on Friday night when they take on Riverview.

Looking deeper at this Armwood roster and head coach Evan Davis has a slew of Power Four recruits littered all over the defense, including in the secondary with cornerbacks Jaelen Waters (Miami commit), Larry Warren (UNLV commit) and safeties D’Montae Tims (Colorado commit), Kallen Martinez (UConn commit).

4. St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders

St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders went on the road to face a upset-minded American Heritage bunch, but held on for a 19-12 victory over the Patriots. The Raiders remain the favorite to win Florida’s Class 5A state championship this fall with one of the state’s most talented teams.

Three-star quarterback Mason Mallory, who transferred from West Boca Raton during the offseason, has displayed what he could do as the Raiders’ dual-threat behind center. Mallory has so far thrown for 1,284 yards and 15 touchdowns this fall.

When it comes to dominance in the Sunshine State on the high school football level, head coach Roger Harriott has this group prepared to win a unprecedented seventh straight state title.

The Raiders close out regular season play on Friday night when they host No. 2 Chaminade-Madonna Prep in what will be the Game of the Week in the Sunshine State.

5. Miami Northwestern Bulls

Miami Northwestern since its victory over rival Miami Central has had a breezy stretch, with their latest victory being a 49-0 thrashing of St. Brendan Catholic. The Bulls are the favorites to repeat as Florida’s Class 3A state champions this fall.

Despite the departure of coach Teddy Bridgewater, the Bulls have remained one of Florida’s top tier programs. When looking at this team, there’s a very real possibility of repeating as Class 3A state champions. Neimann Lawrence, a sophomore four-star quarterback, has taken over the full reigns behind center with Leon Strawder transferring to American Heritage.

Miami Northwestern finishes the Florida high school football regular season with a 9-1 record and likely the No. 1 seed in Class 3A, Region 4.
