An offensive lineman who played six NFL seasons will take over as head coach for a Kentucky high school football team.

As 35KYSports on X posted, Jamon Brown will be the main mentor of Valley High School. A part of the update reads, “A proven leader with deep Louisville roots stepping into a new chapter, bringing experience, accountability, and vision back to the city.”

Brown was born in Louisville and played Kentucky high school football at Fern Creek. He then played for the Louisville Cardinals from 2011 to 2014 before becoming a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 2014 Second-team All-ACC member played most of his NFL career with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. However, in 2018, the Rams waived him after he served a two-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Brown finished that season with the New York Giants, claiming him off waivers.

After playing for New York’s NFC team, he had one-year stints with the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played 62 career games and started in 48.

Brown will take over a Kentucky high school football team that finished the 2025 season with a 9-3 record. The Vikings finished their schedule with a loss to Franklin County that snapped a three-game winning streak.

After his playing career, Brown became an entrepreneur through the GR8 Brand Enterprises LLC and a philanthropist through his eponymous foundation. Now, his new role will help him teach and empower the next generation of football athletes.
