Former NFL QB Seneca Wallace joins Texas high school football coaching staff
Seneca Wallace’s coaching career will take him to Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas. The Texas high school football team’s official account on X/Twitter confirmed the news that Wallace will be their offensive coordinator starting the 2025 season. This position will have him working with dual-threat quarterback Luke Lawrence and an offense that generated 359.8 yards per game.
The Eagles hope that Wallace’s playing experience and coaching acumen will help improve a team that finished 8-5 last season. Despite that good record, Legacy Christian lost to Parish Episcopal in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division 1 state semifinals. Likewise, the Eagles had an 18-7 record in their first two seasons under head coach Doug Hix.
Seneca Wallace played in ten NFL seasons, starting with the Seattle Seahawks, which selected him in the 2023 draft. The former Iowa State standout also played for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers.
He finished his NFL stint with 468 completions for 4,947 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. Wallace also tried out for the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints but did not make the active roster.

While Wallace hails from California, most of his coaching stints are in Texas. In addition to being a coaching assistant for the 2020 Dallas Cowboys, he was an assistant coach for the Episcopal School of Dallas from 2017 to 2021. During his tenure, the Episcopal Eagles had four winning seasons, including a 6-2 mark in the 2019-20 season.
After coaching in Dallas, Seneca Wallace then transferred to Plano’s John Paul II High School. After two seasons at Plano, he became the wide receivers coach for Frisco’s Rock Hill High School. The Blue Hawks went 9-12 in the two seasons he was with them.
Aside from becoming Legacy Christian’s offensive coordinator, he’s also the quarterbacks coach for the United Football League’s St. Louis Battlehawks.
