Four Bishop Montgomery (Calif.) football players transfer into Arizona school

Four of the 19 football players that California’s CIF Southern Section deemed ineligible from Bishop Montgomery, have found a new home in the Grand Canyon State.
Mesa (Ariz.) head football coach Jeremy Hathcock confirmed with Rivals that four former Knights’ players, tight end Caleb Tafua (Texas A&M commit), linebacker Kainalu Skipps, quarterback Kane and wide receiver Kingston Anetema have all transferred into the Arizona high school.
The Jackrabbits are currently 1-2 on the season and are scheduled to take on Desert Ridge tonight.
19 Bishop Montgomery’s incoming transfers were ruled ineligible over the offseason by the CIF Southern Section for breaking Bylaw 202, which is listed by the association as ‘Penalty for Providing Incorrect, Inaccurate, Incomplete or False Information.’
Bishop Montgomery canceled its 2025 football season on back on Sep. 2 on the heels of a tumultuous August in which the Knights had five transfers ruled ineligible. The school also saw several players suspended for their involvement in a postgame altercation after their Week 1 loss to St. Louis, forfeited their Week 2 matchup against No. 1 Mater Dei and fired head coach Ed Hodgkiss.

Among the Knights’ games that were impacted due to the cancelation of the season were slated to be against Hart, Pacifica, St. Genevieve, St. Monica Catholic, Don Bosco Technical Institute, St. Bernard and Mary Star of the Sea.
The cancelation of the Knights’ season at the beginning of the month likely means that the prep careers of several top California FBS prospects are likely over. Barring some kind of waiver or transfer into another state, seniors Christian Davis (Sacramento State commit) and Victor Santino (Cal commit) have all but likely played their final high school football game.
