Four-star prospect Cole Cloer transfers to IMG Academy for his senior year

As shared on his account on his X/Twitter account, four-star high school basketball prospect Cole Cloer will be playing for his third team in as many years as he transfers to Florida’s IMG Academy for his senior season. With a 96.17 On3 Industry Ranking, Cloer is the nation’s 26th-best prospect among incoming high school seniors and the fifth-best prospect in the Sunshine State.
Cloer played his junior year for North Carolina’s Caldwell Academy. During that season, the 6-foot-7 small forward averaged 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 35 games. He had a season-high 31 points against Davidson Day and scored in single digits only twice. His contributions helped the Eagles finish with a 26-9 record.
Before his stint with Davidson Day, Cole Cloer competed for Hillsborough’s Orange Panthers, averaging 25.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. Cloer’s production was vital in Orange’s 17-10 record and a stint in the North Carolina Class 3A state tournament.

Cloer will now join a team that finished the 2024-25 season 22nd in the Massey Ratings and 19th in the On3 Composite Rankings. The Ascenders completed a 20-8 campaign in 2024-25 with wins against Bishop McNamara, Oak Hill Academy, Dynamic Prep, and Montverde Academy.
Meanwhile, Cole Cloer narrowed the college basketball programs he’s considering to eight. North Carolina remains the frontrunner, while Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Louisville, North Carolina State, UConn, and Virginia are still in the running.
