Georgia High School Football Rankings: Top 25 teams – Oct. 20

We’ve passed the midway part of October, which means the high school football regular season in Georgia is nearly over. For the vast majority of schools, only two games remain before seeding time and the quest for a state title begins.
But this week wasn’t one with very much movement, as each of the state’s top five teams remained in their same spots. However, with a couple of big top-25 matchups coming in the final couple weeks of the season, we could see some big moves made before the postseason.
Below are the full top 25 rankings in Georgia:
1. Buford Wolves (8-0)
Buford put on its most dominant performance Friday night in what’s been an unsurprisingly dominant season for the Wolves. Led by quarterback Dayton Raiola, they routed Central Gwinnett 75-0 in a game that was never close. Dylan McCoy had a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter and Buford jumped out to a 41-0 lead at halftime. Raiola threw for a pair of touchdowns and and 126 yards on 7-of-11 passing.
2. Grayson Rams (8-0)
Grayson has dominated each of its opponents and is yet to give up more than 13 points in the past five weeks. They rolled over Rockdale County 58-10 on the road on October 9 and will return to action this week after a bye. Now sitting at 8-0, the Rams are favored by five-plus touchdowns in each of their final two regular season games.
3. Carrollton Trojans (9-0)
What started as a tight game between Carrollton and East Coweta got out of hand in the second quarter as the Trojans exploded for 35 points in this 12 minutes. Running back Cam Wood found the end zone twice in the second frame, and the Trojans defense also returned an interception for a touchdown. Carrollton will have the week off before a huge regular season finale against No. 10 Douglas County on October 31.
4. Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets (8-0)
Winless Northside was no match for Thomas County Central, as the No. 4 team in the state rolled to a 70-0 victory to keep their record unblemished. But it won’t be all cupcakes the rest of the way. A huge matchup with No. 15 Houston County, who comes in at 8-0 as well, looms this week.
5. Creekside Seminoles (8-0)
In one of the most lopsided games around the state in recent memory, Creekside crushed Charles Drew 91-0 on Oct. 10. That capped off a stretch of five games where the ‘Noles outscored their opponents by a combined score of 341-0. Two more games, both of which they’re projected to win by more than 40 points, stand in the way of a perfect regular season.
