Indiana Top 25

The Hoosier State has closed in on the middle point of the high school football season and a bundle of results have shaken up the state’s Top 25 rankings.

Brownsburg has proven themselves as the state’s No. 1 team, but who else makes the cut for the list?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Indiana high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Sep. 23.

1. Brownsburg Bulldogs

The Brownsburg Bulldogs (5-0) have have remained the top team when it comes to 2025 Indiana high school football, with their latest example being a 42-14 rout of Fishers.

Every victory has been impressive, with the regular season opener setting the tone that this Bulldogs team is a viable nationally ranked team in the country. Brownsburg has received stellar play on both sides of the ball, including from quarterback Oscar Fyre, who has thrown for 1,065 yards and 11 touchdowns this fall. Junior wide receiver Branden Sharpe has been Fyre’s favorite target, totaling 488 yards and six touchdowns.

Brownsburg is on the road this week against No. 3 Westfield in what should be the Game of the Week in Indiana.

2. Center Grove Trojans

The second spot in the Indiana Top 25 rankings this week remains Center Grove, which is off and running at 5-0 right behind Brownsburg.

Center Grove features a slew of Division I prospects on the team, including tight end Dominick Barry (Wake Forest commit), quarterback Oscar Sloan (708 yards, six TDs), offensive lineman CJ Scifres (Indiana commit) and defensive stalwart Kobe Cherry (Purdue commit). Running back Nolan Rees has powered the offense with his 367 yards and six touchdowns this season.

The Trojans take on No. 13 Lawrence Central this week on the road.

3. Westfield Shamrocks

Westfield (4-1) has bounced back nicely since getting shellacked by Carmel (see below) a few weeks, 34-10. The Shamrocks have remained steady within the Top 5.

Looking to bounce back this week, Westfield has relied on its offensive front to control the line of scrimmage as they feature a pair of Division I recruits in 6-foot-6, 260-pound Malachi Mills (Kansas commit) and 6-foot-2, 280-pound Job Maverick (Ohio commit). The pair have paved the way for nearly 2,000 yards of offense this season.

The Shamrocks have their toughest matchup of the season to date when they take on No. 1 Brownsburg at home.

4. Carmel Greyhounds

Carmel (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season a couple weeks ago after falling to Kentucky’s No. 1 team Trinity.

What has been more impressive is the way they are doing it as the Greyhounds are leaning heavily on their ground attack, led by running backs Andrew Pemberton (478 yards) and Ayden Johnson (244 yards). Troy commit Anthony Coellner has totaled 1,279 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns through five games.

The Greyhounds taking on North Central (2-3) on Friday night.

Taking the fifth spot out of the Top 25 is the Warren Central (4-1) coming off a 38-23 victory over No. 19 Ben Davis.
