Jay Walls relieved as head football coach at Bainbridge (Ga.)

After just a season and a half, Bainbridge (Ga.) High School has decided to make a change with its football program at the midway point of 2025.

Decatur County Schools announced Saturday via its district website that Jay Walls was no longer the head football coach at Bainbridge. The Bearcats were off to a 0-6 start to the season after finishing 1-9 under Walls in 2024.

Walls finishes his time at Bainbridge with an overall record of 1-15.

Decatur County Schools would like to thank Coach Jay Walls for his hard work and effort as head coach of Bainbridge High School Football.

After much consideration, we have decided to make a change in leadership of the football program. We wish Coach Walls well in his future endeavors.

Effective immediately, Coach Mike Harville will serve as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the 2025 football season. We look forward to Coach Harville’s leadership and the future direction of Bearcat Football.

The former Navarre head coach had big shoes to fill in taking over for Jeff Littleton, who during his time at Bainbridge compiled a record of 91-42 and won multiple AAAA region championships. Bainbridge finished Littleton’s final season in 2023 with a record of 9-3 before Walls arrived.

Walls had stepped down as the head football coach at Navarre (Fla.) back in the spring of 2024, winning 102 games during his time leading the Raiders.
