Kansas High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Nov. 4

The high school football postseason got underway for teams in Kansas last week, and the top programs in the Sunflower State are now focused on their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Kansas high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 4.

1. Andale Indians

The Indians remained perfect through nine games after a 69-0 shutout of Chapman. That’s three shutout victories in their last four games. Andale will continue the Kansas high school football playoffs against Clay Center Community on November 7.

2. St. Thomas Aquinas Saints

The Saints started the postseason with a 49-0 shutout against Turner. Colton McGlinn, Luke Hardgree, and Arthur Witherspoon scored touchdowns. St. Thomas Aquinas advances to the next round and will face Mill Valley on November 7.

3. Maize Eagles

The Eagles are off to a good start in the Kansas high school football Class 6A playoffs, blanking Wichita North 76-0. Brayden Myovela threw for 140 passing yards and four touchdowns, while the Maize running game generated 309 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Malachi Leichner caught two touchdowns, while the Maize defense generated four interceptions. The Eagles will advance to the next round and will face Wichita East on November 7.

4. St. James Academy Thunder

The Thunder began the playoffs with a 57-28 victory against Shawnee Heights. John Hornback threw for 227 passing yards and five touchdowns, while Alec Jett and Cory Kirchner had two receiving touchdowns each. Hornback and Will Buser scored on rushing TDs, while Luke Niesen scored on a catch. Meanwhile, the St. James Academy defense finished with ten tackles for losses (including four sacks). The Thunder will continue their playoff journey against Spring Hill on November 7.

5. Mill Valley Jaguars

The Jaguars started the Kansas high school football Class 5A playoffs with a 35-26 win against Blue Valley. Mill Valley’s ground game dominated the Tigers defense, with Blake Jay rushing for 282 yards and three touchdowns, while Max Piva added 119 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Larry Jones generated four sacks and Hayden Heller had two. The Jaguars will face St. Thomas Aquinas in the next round on November 7.
