Kansas High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 14

The high school football season continued in Kansas last week, as many of the top programs in the Sunflower State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Kansas high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 14.

1. Andale Indians

The Indians took the top spot in the Kansas high school football rankings after an impressive 68-0 shutout victory over Smoky Valley. More importantly, Andale extended its winning streak to six games, and they can add one more with a win over Trinity Academy on October 17.

2. St. Thomas Aquinas Saints

The Saints are coming off a heartbreaking one-point overtime loss to Missouri’s Rockhurst. Despite that setback, Calin Arndt was a beast with 238 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Likewise, quarterback Jysir Chatmon completed a TD pass to William Scott and added a rushing score. St. Thomas Aquinas can bounce back by defeating Blue Valley Northwest on October 17.

3. Maize Eagles

The Eagles’ 49-0 demolition of Maize South marks their second shutout victory this season. Bryaden Myovela had a fantastic all-around game with 208 passing yards, 106 rushing yards, and four touchdowns (three passing). Meanwhile, Pearce George collected five catches for 92 yards and a TD. Maize will visit Valley Center on October 17.

4. St. James Academy Thunder

The Thunder extended their winning streak to four games after edging Blue Valley North 28-20. John Hornback finished with 162 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Jake House added 70 rushing yards and a TD. Meanwhile, the St. James Academy defense registered seven sacks and a fumble recovery. The Thunder’s 2025 Kansas high school football season continues with an October 17 home game against Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic.

5. Mill Valley Jaguars

The Jaguars remain in the top ten despite their 52-36 home loss to Olathe West. Mill Valley’s rushing offense was clicking in defeat, as proven by the impressive performances of Blake Jay (168 yards, one touchdown) and Max Piva (151 yards, one TD). Piva also added 66 receiving  yards and two touchdowns. The Jaguars will try to bounce back against Olathe Northwest on the 17th.

6. Great Bend Panthers

The Panthers remain undefeated through six games. In their 55-6 win over Liberal, Daxton Minton tallied 198 passing yards, 88 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (four passing). Conner Holladay added 71 rushing yards and two scores, while Notre Dame commit Ian Premer had 126 receiving yards and three TDs. Cooper Ohnmacht tallied 72 receiving yards and a score. Premer also completed two of Great Bend’s three interceptions, while Holladay got one of the team’s three sacks. The Panthers will visit Hays for an October 17 road game.

7. Hays Indians

The Indians have won three straight Kansas high school football games after a 42-19 beatdown of Dodge City. As Hays reached the 40-point mark in two of their last three games, a formidable challenge awaits as they face Great Bend on the 17th.

8. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic Crusaders

The Crusaders’ 35-13 victory against Bishop Carroll maintained their perfect record through six games. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic scored 21 unanswered points before the Golden Eagles were on the board. The Crusaders will have an October 17 road game against St. James Academy.

9. Northwest Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have won back-to-back games after their overtime loss to Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic. In their 40-13 win over Manhattan, Augie Fast torched the Indians defense with 254 rushing yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Jamari Bland made two interceptions. Northwest returns to action in an October 17 road game against Wichita South.

10. Derby Panthers

The Panthers have won two in a row after their 48-19 victory over Valley Center. Blade Clark threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns, while Arieus Finley rushed for 178 yards and three TDs. Michael Castillo caught for 178 yards and three scores. Derby will travel to Maize South on the 17th to continue their 2025 Kansas high school football season.
