The 2025 Kentucky high school football season is deep into the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) playoffs as teams are making a push to a state championship.

Nothing has changed at the top as Trinity Shamrocks has continued as Kentucky’s No. 1 team, with Boyle CountyChristian Academy of LouisvilleSt. XavierSouth Warren all coming in behind them. Who else makes the cut in this week’s latest set of Kentucky high school football rankings as the playoffs head into the state semifinal round?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Kentucky high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Nov. 25.

1. Trinity Shamrocks

The Trinity Shamrocks (11-2) have been dominant through the first three rounds of Kentucky’s KHSAA Class 6A playoffs, defeating Madison Central last week in the state quarterfinals, 64-27.

The Shamrocks will aim for rare three-peat in 2025, which they have opened the postseason with some dominant performances, including a 56-0 victory over Great Crossing and shutting out Simon Kenton. Now Trinity will turn its attention to St. Xavier in the state semifinals.

They will need players like quarterback Zane Johnson, running back Jamaurion Berry and wide receiver Sekou Kamara to fuel what is one of Kentucky’s most potent offenses. If Trinity can pull off a win this week against St. Xavier (Ohio), there’s a strong chance they could win out the rest of the way.

2. Christian Academy of Louisville Centurions

Christian Academy of Louisville (12-0) have arguably been the top team in the state with the way they’ve been playing as of late. A 48-7 rout of Union County in the Class 3A state quarterfinals last week brings more evidence that this team will be difficult to beat in the postseason

The Centurions started the season off winning three straight blowout victories, including wins over Lexington Christian Academy and Owensboro, respectively. They added also impressive victories in with a 34-27 decision over Ryle and a 55-6 rout of Central Hardin.

Christian Academy of Louisville has been one of the more dominant teams in the state as they feature a loaded roster, led by four-star sophomore defensive lineman Kellan Hall. The Centurions also have talents like senior defensive back Stone Perkins (Ball State commit) and linebacker Chapman Russell on defense.

3. Boyle County Rebels

The Boyle County Rebels (12-1) has had a trio of blowout wins to start the Class 4A p;ayoffs, out-scoring opponents by a combined 143-20 through three games after a 49-14 rout of No. 8 ranked Covington Catholic.

Boyle County aims to make it 10 consecutive victories when they face off against Covington Catholic this week’s state semifinal tilt.

Regaining the Class 4A state title will be Boyle County’s foremost goal this year. The Rebels’ tight end duo of Seneca Driver and Maddox Hager is crucial if Boyle County wants to make a serious run at winning another state championship.

4. St. Xavier Tigers

St. Xavier (9-3) have now won seven consecutive games after they continued through Class 6A playoffs with a 31-14 win over Louisville Male last week. Now the Tigers will gear up to face top-ranked Trinity in the Class 6A state semifinals.

Right out of the gates to kickoff the 2025 season, St. Xavier started with a 38-7 win over Owensboro. The Tigers have since then had a bye week before pulling off dominant victories over Bowling Green and Louisville Male, respectively. Despite the three losses to their record, the Tigers made a bump up in this latest set of Kentucky high school football rankings.

Can the Tigers continue their quest through the KHSAA Class 6A playoffs and reach the state championship game?

5. South Warren Spartans

South Warren (12-0) has looked unstoppable at times and in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs, they couldn’t be in a 49-21 victory over Henderson County. The Spartans look to reach the state championship game when they take on Ryle this week in the semifinals.

When it comes to playmakers on the offensive end making things happen for the Spartans, quarterback Camden Page and running back Kayden York have been the two main contributors thus far. Page has thrown for 2,092 yards and 22 touchdowns and York has totaled 820 and 20 scores on the ground. Junior defensive back Isaiah Bridges has led a stout South Warren defense with five interceptions and four pass breakups.
