Langston Hughes (Ga.) coasts behind three-TD game from RB Qwantavius Wiggins

Langston Hughes has one of the top offenses in the state of Georgia. There’s talent on display everywhere and that was evident as it blanked Newnan 33-0 on Friday night.
The Panthers raced out to an early lead and never looked back. Spearheading the scoring was senior running back Qwantavius Wiggins.
Needing just eight carries, Wiggins, an FIU commit, managed to compile 230 yards and three touchdowns. His scoring runs came from 43, 53 and 80 yards out as the Langston Hughes offensive line consistently won the battle in the trenches.
Sophomore quarterback Prince Aminu fired a fourth-quarter touchdown pass and senior four-star RB Carsyn Baker converted a goal-to-go opportunity for the final score of the game as the Panthers cruised.
Wiggins entered Friday night with 334 yards and seven rushing scores, per MaxPreps. He’s also caught a touchdown. Alongside Baker, a Florida commit, Wiggins makes up one half of one of the top senior RB duos in the nation.

The 5-foot-10 senior committed to FIU in June, choosing the Golden Panthers over 20 other offers, including the likes of Memphis, USF, Pitt, Minnesota and Oregon State. He is the No. 73 RB and No. 126 player in Georgia in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.
With the win, Langston Hughes improves to 6-0 and looks to be a favorite to take home the GHSA 5A state title. Last season, the Panthers went 13-2, falling in the state title game to Milton. They entered this week as the No. 6 team in Georgia and the No. 44 team nationally, according to the Massey Ratings. The Panthers offense is now averaging over 43 points per game and the defense is now allowing just 12 points per game.
The remaining regular-season schedule doesn’t pose much of a threat, either. Per the Massey Ratings, Langston Hughes has at least a 99-percent chance to win all four games against McIntosh, Northgate, Morrow and Lovejoy. It heads to Peachtree City to take on McIntosh next Friday, Oct. 3.
