Dec 6, 2024; Birmingham, AL, USA; Jackson's Landon Duckworth (1) comes to the line of scrimmage to run a play against Cherokee County at Protective Stadium in the AHSAA 4A State Championship game.

One of the nation’s top offenses in high school football will reside in the Yellowhammer State this fall.

Jackson (Ala.) won 14 games and the Alabama 4A state title in 2024. The Aggies finished as the No. 26 team in the state, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. Expectations will be lofty this season for head coach Cody Flournoy and his team.

The Aggies bulldozed opposing defenses last season, scoring 40 points or more in 12 games. That was thanks to an elite group of playmakers, including three blue-chippers who are running it back for one more campaign.

After throwing for more than 3,400 yards and compiling over 50 touchdowns, four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth is back in the saddle under center. He’s got more than 6,700 total yards under his belt and is now the No. 6 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Four-star running back Ezavier Crowell has reclassified up to the 2026 cycle and is now also entering his final season at the prep level. He’ll continue to hover around five-star status — he ranks No. 33 nationally and No. 2 at the RB position — and is coming off an immaculate 2024 that witnessed over 2,000 total yards and 33 TDs.

An elite senior receiver will be at Duckworth’s disposal, too. Four-star Keeyun Chapman is a top-30 receiver prospect this cycle and caught 51 passes for over 1,300 yards and 17 scores last season.

Earlier this week, Jackson released its schedule for the 2025 season. Just two games against teams that also finished in the top-30 of the 2024 state rankings are on the docket.

The year does begin with a bang on Aug. 22, as the Aggies will host Saraland. The Spartans made the 6A state title game a season ago and finished as the No. 5 team in the state. Jackson will play six home games in 2025.

A Sept. 12 home bout against Baker and a two-game road trip at W.S. Neal and Satsuma to close the regular season highlight other games on the upcoming schedule.
