Michigan High School Football: How to watch Cass Tech vs. Detroit Catholic Central
When the Cass Technical Technicians and Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks square off on Sunday night for the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division I state championship, it pits the state’s two best teams on Ford Field. Both teams enter the contest undefeated and the Technicians are the defending state champ, with the Shamrocks looking to knock them off of their proverbial perch. We dive in and give you the players to watch for and how you can catch the game via livestream tomorrow evening.
Technicians to Watch
Cass Tech (13-0) is gunning for the repeat of the MHSAA’s Division I state championship and with the amount of talent they have at their disposal, it’s certainly in the cards to see them pulling that off again. With an offense that’s been averaging near 50 points per game along with a defensive unit that’s shutout six opponents, it will be interesting to see how Detroit Catholic Central attacks the Cass Tech defense throughout the contest.
QB Donald Tabron II: The 2028 four-star sophomore quarterback has been as good as they come in the Midwest region this season. Tabron II has been terrific through 13 games this season, leading an offense that’s averaging 47.3 points per game.
ATH CJ Sadler: Sadler, a North Carolina commitment, has been a threat to pick off passes and take them back for six on any given play. The Shamrocks are going to want to avoid throwing in Sadler’s direction for a lot of the afternoon.
LB Marcus Jennings: The three-star Pittsburg pledge has been a tackling machine for the Technicians throughout the season, racking up well over 120 tackles. If Cass Tech looks to put the clamps down on the Detroit Catholic Central offensive attack, they’ll need Jennings to be at the top of his game.
OL Khalief Canty Jr.: Paving the way on run plays or providing protection for Tabron II in pass pro, Canty Jr. has been arguably the team’s best lineman up front offensively. The Missouri commit has to be the anchor for the Technicians’ offensive line on Sunday.
Shamrocks to Watch
Now we predicted back in the summer that this Detroit Catholic Central (13-0) team would win it all out of the MHSAA’s Division I and they still could possibly pull this one off. It won’t be easy, however, against arguably the state’s most talented team, top to bottom. The Shamrocks’ offense is a bit more methodical and is averaging just a shade under 38 points per game. Can their offense and defense rise to the occasion at Ford Field on Sunday?
ATH Samson Gash: Whether Gash is lining up at wide receiver, running back or defensive back, the Michigan State commitment is always a big-play threat. This season, Gash has totaled nearly 1,000 yards receiving to go along with 14 scores.

QB Duke Banta: At the helm of the Shamrocks’ offense is the junior quarterback, as Banta has put up some stellar numbers this fall. Banta has thrown for 2,222 yards, 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions.
DB Gideon Gash: The younger Gash is featured on the defensive side as the junior defensive back has racked up 68 total tackles and batted away eight passes.
OL Benjamin Eziuka: For Detroit Catholic Central, the three-star Penn State commitment leads the way for an offense that’s amassed over 4,300 total yards and 61 touchdowns through 13 games.
