Only two weeks remain in Missouri high school football regular season, and the state rankings saw some big movement over the weekend.

The top five teams remain the same as last week, but there was chaos everywhere else on the list after some key wins and eye-opening losses.

Heading into Week 8, here are the top 25 teams in the Show-Me State.

The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Lee’s Summit North

Previous: No. 1

The Broncos sit at 7-0 after their fifth straight win over a ranked opponent on Friday night. The latest was a 35-13 dispatching of Liberty North, as LSN flexed its muscles on both sides of the ball. Games against crosstown rivals No. 24 Lee’s Summit West and No. 5 Lee’s Summit are all that stand between them and an undefeated regular season.

2. Nixa

Previous: No. 2

Nixa continued its dominant 2024 campaign by routing Waynesville on Friday night to improve to 7-0. The Eagles have yet to be challenged this year, and likely won’t the rest of the regular season with their final matchups each projected to be blowout wins.

3. Christian Brothers College

Previous: No. 3

The Cadets had the weekend off after a huge string of wins over Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.), St. Louis University High and top-10 DeSmet. They’re riding high at 5-1 heading into a tilt with Peoria’s Notre Dame Academy on Friday night.

4. Cardinal Ritter College Prep

Previous: No. 4

Cardinal Ritter is now 6-0 after smoking Kansas top-25 team Bishop Miege 48-0 over the weekend. The Lions have been dominant the past few weeks, but will get two consecutive big tests against No. 7 DeSmet and No. 15 Lutheran North.

5. Lee’s Summit

Previous: No. 5

The Tigers have overwhelmed their last two opponents, outscoring Park Hill South and Ray-Pec by a combined score of 92-10. Now 6-1, they’ll face a one-win Staley squad this week before a huge regular season finale against No. 1 Lee’s Summit North.

6. Blue Springs South

Previous: No. 8 (+2)

Blue Springs South gave No. 1 LSN everything they could handle a week ago in a 36-28 loss, then responded with a convincing 41-24 victory over Liberty on Friday night. Now they’ll close the season with a pair of top-25 matchups against No. 12 Blue Springs and No. 24 Lee’s Summit West.

7. DeSmet

Previous: No. 10 (+3)

The Spartans made one of the biggest jumps in this week’s rankings after routing previously undefeated Festus 42-13 over the weekend. A couple of tough challenges await them to close out the season though, with No. 4 Cardinal Ritter coming in on Friday night before Illinois powerhouse Edwardsville hosts on October 25.

8. Liberty North

Previous: No. 7 (-1)

Liberty North is back at .500 after falling in a 35-13 defeat to No. 1 Lee’s Summit North on Friday night. They won’t have any time to waste feeling sorry themselves though, as No. 9 Rockhurst welcomes them this weekend and No. 12 Blue Springs hosts them in two weeks.

9. Rockhurst

Previous: No. 6 (-3)

The Hawklets have now dropped consecutive games after losing to Blue Springs 30-13 and falling in a 14-13 heartbreaker to Kansas No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas. A very hungry Liberty North squad is up next before they face St. Louis University High to head into the playoffs.

10. Kearney

Previous: No. 9 (-1)

The Class 4 Bulldogs are two games away from an undefeated regular season after beating Raytown South 50-0 on Friday night. Standing in their way are Winnetonka and Excelsior Springs, two teams that Kearney is heavily favored to beat by the On3 Massey Ratings.
