Missouri High School Football Rankings: Top 25 teams – Oct. 20

Only one week remains in the Missouri high school football regular season, and the state rankings saw some more big movement over the weekend.
The top five teams remain the same as last week, but there was plenty of movement elsewhere on the list.
Heading into Week 9, here are the top 25 teams in the Show-Me State:
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Lee’s Summit North
Previous: No. 1
The Broncos remain atop the rankings after another win over a ranked opponent, this time beating rival Lee’s Summit West 34-17. Their final regular season game of the year might be their toughest — a road test against rival and No. 5 Lee’s Summit.
2. Nixa
Previous: No. 2
Nixa continued its dominant run and now sits at 8-0 after blowing out Ozark 48-3 over the weekend. The Eagles will close things out with a road game at 2-6 Glendale before the playoffs begin in two weeks.
3. Cardinal Ritter College Prep
Previous: No. 4
Ritter moves into the No. 3 spot after dismantling rival DeSmet 28-3 on Friday night. A showdown with No. 16 Lutheran North awaits on Friday as the Lions look to finish 8-0.
4. Christian Brothers College
Previous: No. 4 (+1)
CBC easily handled Peoria Notre Dame over the weekend, rolling to a 62-28 road victory. Now they turn their attention to area rival St. Mary’s, who at 3-5 will be looking to play spoiler before the playoffs.
5. Lee’s Summit
Previous: No. 5
The Tigers are 7-1 heading into the final week of the regular season, where they’ll meet No. 1 Lee’s Summit North in a huge top-five battle for city supremacy.
6. Blue Springs South
Previous: No. 6
After dropping a game to LSN on October 4, Blue Springs South has reeled off consecutive ranked victories over Liberty and Blue Springs. Ahead is another top-25 tilt with Lee’s Summit.
7. Liberty North
Previous: No. 8 (+1)
The Eagles responded to their blowout loss at the hands of Lee’s Summit North by winning a close 16-13 battle over Rockhurst. Another top-15 opponent is up next though, as they’ll head to face No. 12 Blue Springs on Friday.

8. Carthage
Previous: No. 11 (+3)
Carthage won a big one on Friday night, holding off Webb City to win a 14-13 thriller on the road. They will be back at home this week against 5-3 Neosho to close out the year.
9. Rockhurst
Previous: No. 9
The Hawklets have faced one of the state’s toughest schedules but still sit at 5-3 after three consecutive losses to Blue Springs, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.) and Liberty North. They’ll end the season by traveling across the state to face St. Louis University High.
10. Kearney
Previous: No. 10
Kearney remains unblemished after routing Winnetonka 42-0 on Friday. They’ll be heavily favored versus Excelsior Springs this week as they look to finish 9-0.
