Mountain Brook (Ala.) pulls off stunning 2-point conversion to win in overtime

One of the games of the week in Alabama high school football saw Mountain Brook head to Homewood in a ranked matchup. It delivered an incredible ending that you have to see to believe.
The two were deadlocked at 17 the end of regulation. Homewood got the ball first in overtime and scored, kicking the extra point. Mountain Brook responded with a touchdown of its own, but opted not to extend things further and went for the two-point conversion.
A bad snap from the Mountain Brook center sent quarterback Cayden Hofbauer 20 yards backwards, forcing him to try and make a miracle throw into the end zone. He eventually rolled another 15 yards back to the Homewood 40-yard line, kept moving to his right and uncorked a bomb that somehow found the hands of Bennett Jordan, giving the Spartans a miraculous 25-24 victory:
The stunning victory brings Mountain Brook, the No. 24 team in Alabama per the Massey Ratings, to 4-2 on the season. No. 18 Homewood saw its undefeated hopes come to a brutal end as its now 5-1.
The Patriots built a 17-7 lead at halftime via a long passing touchdown, a rushing score from Kaleb Carson and a field goal as the half expired. Mountain Brook opened the third quarter with a long drive that ended with a field goal to trim the lead to one score. Before the two-point conversion, it already had to find some magic to even extend the game to overtime.

After getting the ball back with a minute to go in the fourth quarter, Mountain Brook managed to go 94 yards, ending with a scramble into the end zone from Hofbauer as time expired:
While Mountain Brook has likely used up its luck for the remainder of the season, it’s pulled off one of the more memorable wins in recent memory in the Yellowhammer State. The Spartans now gear up for a date with Clay-Chalkville, which is fresh off a win over No. 1 Thompson on Thursday night. Homewood will attempt to shake off its first loss of the season when it takes on Gardendale next Friday.
