National High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Nov. 17

The Rivals’ National High School Football Top 25 Rankings via Massey Ratings for the second straight week in a row sees Oklahoma’s Bixby Spartans back at the top.
The undefeated Spartans completed their regular season play with a dominating 72-3 win over Norman to go 10-0 and are preparing for another deep playoff run in Oklahoma’s OHSAA Class 6A. Following them are IMG Academy, Southlake Carroll, Allen and Buford 2-5. Which other programs were able to make the climb into the national top 25 rankings this week?
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here is the latest National high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Nov. 17.
1. Bixby (Okla.) (10-0)
The Bixby Spartans (10-0) move back into the national high school football rankings’ No. 1 spot after finishing the regular season with a 72-3 romp of Norman. Loren Montgomery’s crew starts off the OHSAA Class 6A playoffs up against Union this week.
The Spartans have been unstoppable on offense, averaging 65.4 points per game, as they throughly dominated on their way to an undefeated 10-0 2025 campaign.
Senior quarterback Carson Kirby has been a steady hand behind center for Bixby, with the passer completing 144 of 205 passes for 2,287 yards and 31 touchdowns. The Spartans have remained the top team out of Oklahoma and are looking to win an eighth consecutive state championship.
2. IMG Academy (Fla.) (9-0)
IMG Academy (9-0) looked on track to face rival St. Frances Academy (Md.) in what many feel like would be a de facto national high school football championship game.
All of that changed course as the Ascenders announced they would not be rescheduling their game against their rivals out of Baltimore. Now is IMG Academy’s undefeated record for the opponents they faced enough to get them close enough to the top?
For high school football fans, this definitely a loss as folks were looking forward to what kind of matchup it would’ve been on a national high school football stage. The Ascenders’ season is officially over.
3. Southlake Carroll (TX) (11-0)
Southlake Carroll (11-0) completed a undefeated regular season after they romped another opponent, defeating Keller Central in a 49-3 romp. The Dragons then followed it up with a 35-0 defeat of Crowley last week in the opening round of the Class 6A, Division II playoffs.
There’s little question that Southlake Carroll might be playing the best football of the season behind the play of their high-octane offense. Leading the way is Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda and Ohio State pledge Brock Boyd, with the pair fueling a Dragons’ offense that’s averaging over 50 points per game this season.
Up next for the Dragons is Central in the second round of the Class 6A, Division II playoffs.
4. Allen (TX) (11-0)
Other than Southlake Carroll, no other Texas high school football team has been more consistent than the Allen Eagles. The Eagles’ latest win, however, was anything but comfortable as they needed their defense to step up in order to advance in the second round of the UIL’s Class 6A, Division I playoffs.
The Eagles (11-0) just narrowly got by Lewisville in a 22-15 battle that went all the way down to the wire. For all the blowout victories the Eagles have had, this was getting through adversity when it came to the team’s first postseason game of this fall.
The offense has been sizzling behind the play of the wide receiving tandem Arizona three-star commit Caleb Smith (61 catches, 733 yards) and Carter Harris (26 catches, 821 yards).
5. Buford (Ga.) (11-0)
Are the Buford Wolves the prohibitive favorite to win Georgia’s Class 6A high school football classification?
The Wolves improved to 10-0 a couple weeks ago after a 35-3 win over a very good Mill Creek team and followed it up with a 45-0 rout of Richmond Hill to start the 6A postseason. If there is a team that seems primed to knock Grayson off of its pedestal, it looks like Buford would be that threat.
One of the top defensive front sevens in the Peach State resides in Buford, as they feature four-star edge rushers Bryce Perry-Wright (Texas A&M) and Dre Quinn (Clemson) along with four-star safety Tyriq Green (Georgia). Through nine games, the defense has only yielded 101 points and has shown they can play with the best of ‘em.
Buford (11-0) continue in the GHSA’s Class 6A state playoffs this week against Newton in the second round.
6. Aledo (TX) (11-0)
The Aledo Bearcats (11-0) has scored over 70 points in five straight games as they surpassed the total once again in last week’s 80-12 win over Saginaw to open the UIL Class 5A, Division I playoffs.
When it comes to red hot teams out of the Lone Star State, Aledo is a team that has been rolling offensively behind a slew of playmakers on the offensive end. The Bearcats this season has been humming on offense and averaging a sizzling 53 points per game.
Next up for the Bearcats is a second round matchup with Tascosa.
7. Corner Canyon (UT) (11-1)
The defending UHSAA Class 6A state champions look on track to win another state title as they’re just rolling through the postseason.

Corner Canyon (11-1) cruised to a 59-20 rout Mountain Ridge in the 6A state semifinals and now the Chargers look to avenge their only loss of the season when they face Lone Peak for the 6A crown.
Texas A&M commitment Helaman Casuga has been the engine to make the Chargers’ offense go this season as he’s completed 197 of 285 passes for 3,336 yards and 37 touchdowns. The Chargers are just one win away from taking Utah’s Class 6A state championship, which will be played this weekend at the University of Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium.
8. St. Frances Academy (Md.) (7-1)
St. Frances Academy (7-1) made sure to remind folks in the DMV know who the best team in the region is as they rolled to a 35-0 win over Virginia’s No. 1 ranked The St. James Academy a couple weeks ago at Under Armour Stadium in Baltimore.
What they won’t have the opportunity to do is show folks they are the best team in the country as their national high school football showdown with IMG Academy is now canceled and won’t be rescheduled. Will St. Frances Academy be playing one more game this season, however?
The Panthers have leaned on Virginia commit Jae’Oyn Williams and 2027 running back Sa’Nir Brooks, as the pair helped them cruise past Chaminade-Madonna Prep at the Broward County Classic High School Football Showcase. The only loss of the season has come against St. John Bosco (Calif.) on the road, making the Panthers a very viable contender for a mythical national title.
What separates St. Frances Academy from many of the nation’s elites is the play of their defense, led by five-star edge rusher Zion Elee, who is a Maryland commitment.
9. Grayson (Ga.) (11-0)
The Grayson Rams (11-0) continued their dominant ways as they rolled into the first round of Georgia’s Class 6A playoffs and defeated Norcross, 44-7.
The Rams’ offense has been solid throughout the season, but it has been the elite play of their defense that has set them apart from other teams in the country.
Texas five-star commit Tyler Atkinson has been playing very well for the Rams in the front seven, racking up 77 tackles, 25 for a loss and 10 sacks.
The Rams have a massive second round matchup this week when they look to slow down Georgia commitment Jae Lamar and the Colquitt County Packers in Round 2 of the 6A playoffs.
10. Thomas County Central (Ga.) (11-0)
Thomas County Central (11-0) has really made it look easy for most of the 2025 season and that trend continued into the playoffs after a 73-14 throttling of Woodstock in the opening round of Georgia’s Class 5A postseason.
The Yellow Jackets are averaging 53.9 points per game by an offense that’s been fueled by a balanced offensive attack, led by the play of Wake Forest commit Christian Lawrence, who has carried the rock 134 times for 1,325 yards and scored 18 touchdowns.
Thomas County Central looks to keep up their dominant ways throughout the postseason when they take on Villa Rica on Friday night.
