New Jersey High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Oct. 26

New Jersey high school football for the fifth consecutive week continues with Don Bosco Prep Ironmen as the No. 1 ranked program out of the Garden State. What is surprising out of the latest set of rankings is no movement out of the Top 5, despite St. Joseph Regional‘s thrilling 43-42 win over Bergen Catholic last week.
The Hun School and St. Peter’s Prep are still within the rankings when it comes to the top five teams. Who else made the cut in the eighth set of the Top 25 rankings out of New Jersey?
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here is the latest New Jersey high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 26.
1. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen
The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen (8-0) take the top spot in the rankings for the fifth straight week and as they took care of business against Paramus Catholic, a 28-0 victory.
Don Bosco Prep opened the season with a 14-10 win over Melissa (TX) and followed it up with another out-of-state team in Monarch (Fla.), defeating the Knights 38-21 at home. The Ironmen soundly defeated St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) a couple few ago, 28-0. The Ironmen last week faced No. 7 ranked DePaul Catholic and came away with a convincing 47-15 victory.
Next up for the top-ranked Don Bosco Prep is a Halloween showdown with No. 5 St. Peter’s Prep, in what should be the Game of the Week out of the Garden State.
2. Bergen Catholic Crusaders
The last time the Bergen Catholic Crusaders (6-2) have lost two games or more was 2019. Since then, the Crusaders have averaged just one loss a season but last week changed that as they lost a heartbreaking, 43-42 overtime game to St. Joseph Regional.
The Crusaders have had themselves a doozy of a regular season opener when they defeated East St. Louis (Ill.) at the Battle at the Beach Classic in Ocean City. Bergen Catholic followed up that with another impressive win down in South Florida, defeating West Boca Raton (Fla.), 21-14.
Bergen Catholic looks to close out the regular season strong before the playoffs kick off against
Seton Hall Prep on Saturday.
3. Hun School Raiders
The Hun School (6-2) bounced back from a loss to St. Frances Academy by going down to Florida and dominating The First Academy, 31-14.
The Raiders recently cruised past Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 42-0, and then couple weeks ago soundly defeated winless Mt. Zion Prep, 48-0. Hun School relies on a stout defense, led by a pair of senior defensive ends in Luke Wafle (USC commit) and Seth Clarke (Rice commit).
The Hun School has their toughest test of the season when they face No. 2 nationally ranked IMG Academy at home.
4. St. Joseph Regional Green Knights
St. Joseph Regional (6-2) didn’t move up the rankings at all, despite the Green Knights defeating Bergen Catholic, 43-42, in overtime last week.

The Green Knights got things rolling this 2025 season when they traveled down to the nation’s capital to face St. John’s College High coming away with a 34-19 win to kickoff the season and then followed it up with a 48-0 victory over Cardinal Hayes (N.Y.).
The Green Knights feature one of the most talented secondaries around, led by Tennessee commit KJ McClain. St. Joseph Regional has another tough matchup this week when they take on No. 7 DePaul Catholic.
5. St. Peter’s Prep Marauders
Coming off a narrow victory over No. 5 St. Joseph Regional Green Knights a few weeks ago, St. Peter’s Prep (7-1) had followed that up with a 42-3 rout of Seton Hall Prep before losing to DePaul Catholic, 31-21. The Marauders cruised to a 30-9 win over Pope John XXIII last week and will look to finish the season strong against top ranked Don Bosco Prep.
St. Peter’s Prep, before the loss to DePaul Catholic, had won their previous four games by an average of 32 points and their most recent win before St. Joseph Regional came over a talented Delbarton group, 42-7.
