For No. 1 ranked St. John Bosco, they will get a little bit of a boost via an in-season transfer, ahead of one of the biggest national high school football games of the year when the Braves face No. 12 Mater Dei on Friday night at Panish Family Stadium.

According to a report by the Orange County Register, 6-foot-5, 215-pound freshman Kuika Moaalii has transferred to St. John Bosco from Bishop Montgomery. Moaalii plays wide receiver/defensive end and already has a list of offers from potential Division I suitors.

The freshman playing against the Monarchs wouldn’t be his first game as a Brave, with Moaalii playing in the 42-0 win over Servite, catching two passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Moaalii already has five Division I offers from Arizona State, Oregon, Sacramento State, Texas State and UCLA.

Bishop Montgomery canceled its 2025 football season on back on Sep. 2 on the heels of a tumultuous August in which the Knights had five transfers ruled ineligible.

Four of the 19 football players that California’s CIF Southern Section deemed ineligible from Bishop Montgomeryended up finding a new home in the Grand Canyon State at Mesa (Ariz.).

Just recently, another former Bishop Montgomery player found a new school when freshman lineman Hansen Makaafi transferred to Mission Viejo.
