North Carolina High School Basketball: Carmel Tip-Off Classic to feature 10 ranked teams

The 2025-26 high school basketball season will begin around the nation in the coming days. There’s an exciting crop of teams in North Carolina and many of them will square off against each other next week.

Phenom Hoops has a terrific event on deck in Matthews, N.C. The Carmel Tip-Off Classic will take place on Nov. 7 and 8 at Carmel Christian High School.

The two-day event will feature 11 North Carolina programs. According to the Massey Ratings, 10 of those teams are entering the season as top-25 programs in the state. Headlining the field is No. 3 Combine Academy and No. 4 Winston Salem Christian.

6:30 pm: No. 3 Combine Academy vs. Queen’s Grant Academy
8:00 pm: No. 17 Carmel Christian vs. No. 22 Caldwell Academy

Saturday, Nov. 8

3:00 pm: No. 18 Gaston Christian vs. No. 23 Burlington School
4:30 pm: Queens Grant vs. No. 16 Forsyth Country Day
6:00 pm: No. 6 Concord Academy vs. No. 3 Combine Academy
7:30 pm: No. 17 Carmel Christian vs. No. 8 Greensboro Day
