Ohio high school football coach suspended after hazing probe

Ohio high school football’s No. 12 ranked Ursuline Fighting Irish will have a different voice leading them for the rest of the 2025 season and possibly beyond.

According to a Cleveland 19 report, Fighting Irish head coach Daniel Reardon and assistants Timothy McGlynn, Christian Syrianoudis have been placed on administrative leave after former player and his family filed a hazing lawsuit against Ursuline last week. The Ohio high school announced that longtime assistant Michael Frasco would lead the team for the rest of the 2025 season.

Ursuline released the following statement regarding the hazing lawsuit:

“Ursuline announces that Michael Frasco, a long-time assistant coach, will be its
interim head football coach for the remainder of the football season.

Coach McGlynn and Coach Syrianoudis were placed on administrative leave on
September 8, 2025, pending the outcomes of the ongoing investigations and litigation.

There have been no decisions regarding renewal of their contracts or future employment.
Coach Reardon has agreed to an indeterminate suspension on September 8, 2025,
pending the outcomes of the ongoing investigations and litigation. Likewise, there
have been no decisions regarding renewal of Coach Reardon’s contract or future
employment.

Ursuline is unable to share additional information at this time.”

The Fighting Irish were one of Ohio high school football’s top teams from the 2024 season, finishing with a 13-2 record. Ursuline reached the OHSAA’s Division III state semifinals, falling to Central Catholic, 7-6.

The team was off to a 2-0 start before having to cancel last week’s game against Farrell due to the amid the allegations of hazing, misconduct lawsuit. Fighting Irish have a bye week this upcoming Friday and are scheduled to take the field again on Sep. 19 when they take on Warren G Harding.
