The high school football season continued in Ohio last week, as many of the top programs in the Buckeye State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Ohio high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 13.

1. Elder Panthers

The Panthers hold onto the top spot of the Ohio high school football rankings after a 40-16 victory against Highlands. They’ve allowed only two opponents to go beyond the 20-point mark, and their output against Kentucky’s Bluebirds is a season high. Elder will proceed to an October 17 road game against Indiana’s Bishop Chatard.

2. Archbishop Moeller Crusaders

After losing to Elder, the Crusaders bounced back with a 42-10 victory against St. Ignatius. Matt Ponatoski threw for 259 yards and five touchdowns, while Reggie Watson had 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Archbishop Moeller can start another winning streak by defeating St. Edward on October 18.

3. St. Edward Eagles

The Eagles stretched their winning streak to three games after a 42-23 victory over Clarkson North. They’ve scored at least 42 points in the last three games, which helped them improve to 7-1. In their next game, St. Edward will host Archbishop Moeller on the 18th.

4. Olentangy Orange Pioneers

The Pioneers improved to 8-0 after their 28-14 victory against Upper Arlington. It’s only the third time this season in which the Pioneers allowed an opponent to score in double digits. Despite that, Olentangy Orange remains perfect in the 2025 Ohio high school football season, and they continue that run by defeating Hilliard Bradley on October 17.

5. Bishop Watterson Eagles

The Eagles are at 7-0 after a dominant 57-7 performance against Bishop Hartley. This game marks the fifth consecutive time in which Bishop Watterson has limited their opponents to seven points or less. Drew Bellisari threw for 144 passing yards and four touchdowns, while adding another rushing TD. The Eagles will try to keep their unblemished season against Northwest on October 17.

6. Highland Hornets

The Hornets have been unbeaten through seven games. Their 58-7 win against Roosevelt marks the sixth time they’ve neutralized an opponent to nine points or less. Grady Gibb finished with 117 passing yards, 94 rushing yards, and three touchdowns. Casey Myser collected 115 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while Jake Weber had 72 receiving yards and a TD. Highland will travel on October 17 to battle against Revere.

7. Anderson Raptors

The Raptors are perfect through seven games after defeating Walnut Hills. Owen Scalf threw for 282 yards, rushed for 25, and scored two touchdowns. Jeremiah Glenn tallied 83 rushing yards and a score, while Jordan Davis had two rushing TDs. Meanwhile, the Anderson defense generated three sacks and two interceptions. The Raptors’ 2025 Ohio high school football season will continue with a road game against Winton Woods on October 17.

8. Avon Eagles

The Eagles earned their third shutout victory in their last four games. Their 34-0 beatdown of Steele improved their record to 7-1. Avon can get its eighth win of 2025 by defeating Avon Lake on the 17th.

9. Mentor Cardinals

The Cardinals extended their winning streak to eight games after defeating Shaker Heights. It’s their third shutout victory this season and fourth in which they limited the opponent to seven points or less. Brogan Jones had 218 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson Farley finished with 87 rushing yards and two TDs. Justen Hodge dominated with 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
